Q: System and System Interrupts- high cpu utilization

Hi,
I have got a problem with my recent windows 8.1 installation.
Immediatly after instalation two tasks has high CPU usage: "System interrupts" and "System".

I've installed Windows on macs many times and it is the first time i have this problem.

I've tried updating Windows, updating drivers, reinstalling a whole bootcamp package from Apple website- it doesn't work.

Same thing occured on Windows 7.

Maybe it is important that I've used developer preview of Yosemite (which updates EFI), and then I've reinstalled Mac to Mavericks.
Hardware: Macbook Pro Retina 13" Late 2013 / i5 / 8G

    Hi,

I'm experiencing the same issue.  ~30% cpu utilization from interrupts.

Had to uninstall intel drivers (remove from Device manager) in order for it to go back down to ~0%.

I'm running Oct '13 Macbook Pro 13".  Yosemite with Win 7 x64 on bootcamp.

... hope apple listens and sends out a fix.

I come from China, 13 of the macbook air encountered the same problem. . There are two issues, first how to contact Apple to reflect this problem? I suspect that the upgrade EFI cause right. Second, win7 just wake after sleep can solve this problem? No longer appear excessive cpu problem?

Will this solution as long as the sleep time on the line? Or said a few minutes later re-cause cpu too high?

For me, sleeping and waking the MacBook has fixed the CPU issue until the next reboot.

You shouldn't have to downgrade/remove any drivers.

Thank you, I've been through this way to temporarily solve the problem, and I informed the Chinese apple, but do not know if they will go back to Apple headquarters to fix EFI. . . Finally, thank you too! ! This problem has troubled me for three days, and today finally solved ~~~ translation from Google

If you read earlier in the thread, somebody has already contacted Apple, and they were referred to Microsoft.

I'm experiencing the same issue (late 2013 rMBP 13"), and am beginning to think it might be a Microsoft issue after all due to reports of other non-apple devices having the same issue.

Sleep and wake up fixes the issue for me until the next reboot here as well.

The system interrupt high CPU problem is definitely related to Yosemite drivers. On my rMBP, I've been running Mavericks and Windows7 Enterprise without any issues for the last 9 months. I upgraded to 10.10 without touching the bootcamp (no driver update, etc) and now I have the problem. In my wife's case, I upgraded her MBA to 10.10, then partitioned the SSD and installed Windows7 Enterprise. She has the same issue. Whatever Yosemite changes in the system, it creates the issue whether Bootcamp was present at the time of update or installed later on, as well as whether you have Windows 7 or 8.

I hope Apple releases an update to fix this, but whenever there's an issue on the Bootcamp side, they always refer you to Microsoft.

I have the same exact problem that everyone else is having (Yosemite, Windows 8.1, MacBook Pro Retina 2014). It definitely started right after I installed Yosemite. Like others, I traced it back acpI.sys from high System and System Interrupt usage.

The sleep/wake up fix worked for me, so good find on that. I'm really hoping there's a fix soon though :/

Hi, i have the exact same issue, too.

both about my macbook air 13' (mid 2013) and macbook pro retina 13' are at 25%--34% cpu usage when running windows 7. after i upgrade the OS X 10.10 yosemite. just fix it. battery exhaust so fast than i thought, even can not stand for 3 hours!!!  and the body of my macbook become soooo hot, where my left hand put.

        fix it  please

        thank you

Same issue here, late 2013 retina MacBook Pro, recently installed Yosemite, running Windows 8.1. Same CPU usage by system/system interrupts. Sleep fix also works for me, hoping we get enough people posting about this to get it fixed.

Same issue with my MacBook Air 6.1 since I got Yosemite installed. I'm using Windows 7 Pro in a bootcamp configuration. Thanks for the sleep-wake trick, it helps while waiting for a driver update.

    I have the same issue. Macbook Retina 13" Late 2013. Bootcamp - Win-7 64bit/

After intaling Yosemite i have high cpu usage when on idle (High Interrupt DCP processor take - (LatencyMon reports problem in acpi.sys),

After quick sleep-wake, there is no problem.

Is there any better solution than sleep/wake?

    Thanks,
