Adding link to PDF files using Preview

Hello,

Does anyone know why "Add link" in Preview disappeared? I swear it used to be there but not anymore.

The function – of adding internal and external links in PDFs - seems to have been omitted by Apple since Mountain Lion but it remains possible to insert a URL link. The steps are:

  1. Open the PDF in Preview.
  2. Select tools/annotate/text – this brings up a text box in the PDF. Move the text box to where you need it.
  3. Copy the URL you want from Safari.
  4. Paste the URL into the text box then click outside of the box.
  5. To open the URL, click in the text then right click and chose open URL from the pop up menu. The link should open in Safari.
