Jul 26, 2015 8:04 AM in response to Msvee87by iCoco,Seems we are having a similar issue: Instagram: No access to Moments? Only small subset of albums? All Photos album incomplete?
i wonder why Instagram doesn't have access at Moments from icloud photo library at all (while other apps do have access).

Aug 1, 2015 3:53 PM in response to Msvee87by Beck Khazratov,I have tried to off "Summarize Photos", but it didn't work for me. And the exact photo lost in Instagram was not only in cloud but also loaded in my iPhone 6+ too.
SOLUTION: I opened the missing photo and Reverted the "Edit" changes I have made. Yes, it appeared back.
But of course the Uploaded photos to iCloud are missing too, unless I open them and download them back.
Troubleshoot different solutions, might help you one or another.
Good luck!

Aug 4, 2015 1:38 AM in response to Msvee87by Daven Mathies,I think this may have something to do with "Optimize iPhone Storage" being turned on in your iCloud—Photos settings. At least, this is when I first started noticing the issue. If your phone decides to store the original photo in iCloud to save space, maybe Instagram can't see it despite the reference file remaining in your photo album? If you have plenty of free space on your phone (I sure don't) you might turn this setting off and see if that fixes it.

Oct 2, 2015 6:36 PM in response to ironlungalby lbwhills,This solution worked for me as well. Do not store anything on I-Cloud. It confuses the **** out of Instagram;)

Dec 27, 2015 1:35 PM in response to Msvee87by Boxergirl,Help! Instagram has made a mess of my photo albums! When trying to share an image on Instagram, I have to scroll down through the millions of albums I have and still not see what I want since the albums are completely out of order or are just plain missing. I use a Mac v.ElCapitan and an iphone6 and Photos. It seems that Instagram is also using my old iPhotos albums. I’ve tried closing the app and reopening as well as deleting and readding the app on my iPhone in hopes that all of my albums are uploaded and in order on Instagram. No such luck. As a work around I’ve even “favorited” the photos I want to share within Photos both on my phone and on my Mac hoping they get added to the “favorites” album list on Instagram but they are missing! Any ideas?

Jul 16, 2016 9:11 PM in response to Msvee87by AmericanSamurai,I had this problem with photos uploaded to my phone from a pc. The workaround I discovered:
View a photo you want to upload to Instagram
Select the "Share" icon
Two lines of options show up- on the first line, select the three dots at the far right
Turn "Instagram" slider on
Add a caption and share away!
It seems you can only do one photo at a time, though. Hope this helps!

Oct 1, 2016 5:02 AM in response to Msvee87by Abstractman23,just noticed a similar thing with FB. i have 30 thousand photos, but when i go to upload a recent holiday photo it's saying i only have 5 thousand in my camera roll. and many photos are simply not showing up from my holiday just one week ago.
this is totally bizarre and frustrating...
