Health App does not recognize other app data

I have an iPhone 5 with the ios8 upgrade. I have been using Map My Ride since before the upgrade and installed MyFitnessPal after the upgrade and neither will show up in the Health app. I go to the sources button in Health but neither app is listed and won't show up no matter what updates I make to either of them. Do I have some type of notifications turned off or something - does anyone know? I also verified that I have the latest Map My Ride app version as well.

You actually have to go within the app itself (not the Apple health app) under the settings for the specific app. However, don't be surprised if the Health app does not update correctly, that is a whole other issue. My Up band does not sync right with the health app (supposedly i haven't slept since October 10).

Interesting. I haven't had any trouble syncing anything until about 10/10 when UP stopped properly syncing sleep. Time in Bed is still being recognized by the Health app but not Sleep. I suspect this is an UP issue as I've been having a LOT of trouble with that app lately.

What specifically within the apps? I have turned on all notification options within each app and restarted my phone since then. Is there something else?

It depends on the app. Check the settings section in the individual app for any sections that have to do with sharing or devices or apps. You're looking for a toggle that lets you share the data with Health. Once that's turned on, everything else is done in the Health app.

I haven't had any problem with the band and my sleep patterns. I still think there is something not right with the Health app, hopefully they can fix it 🙂.
