No bootable disk on bootcamp

I'm trying to install windows 8.1 on my mid 2010 MBP via bootcamp but when it reboots and tries to install a black screen appears with the message "no bootable disk found. please insert bootable disk and press any key" or something similar. my dvd drive is busted so i created an iso on my dad's pc and im using a 16gb pen drive with the .iso mounted as well as the support software. any help here?
thanks in advance
edit btw i pressed the alt key to load from the usb and it loaded up until the page where i choose which version of windows to install and it says "no image found" or something similar

i tried through boot camp assistant but it gives me the last thing i posted - windows cant be installed on disk 0 partition 4 then some gpt efi mumbo jumbo

It's not mumbo jumbo, and you are doing this all wrong because you think it is!

Stop what you are doing and read the directions before you seriously mess up your Mac. If you don't want to read the directions don't install Boot Camp.

Do you have a backup of your Mac or are you just hoping that nothing else goes wrong?

a. i have a backup of course

b. im calling it mumbo jumbo because im trying to install this since 5 hours ago and i was hoping someone could explain why my mac is acting this way without having to lose half an hour writing every step i took

c. what i did exactly was partition my disk through the bca and resume normally as one would. wait for the reboot and install windows. when it reboots a black screen appears that says "no bootable image found" as i described in the op. with the option button i loaded through efi. the next thing i tried was to delete the partition create another one in exfat format and try that way. it moved a little more but nothing stilll. again in bca i deleted the partition and tried again, this time with only the last box checked. same error. when i get to the part where i have to choose the partition to install windows it gives me the "cant install windows on disk 0 partition 4"

Your 2010 MBP does not support EFI. You need to let BA do the partitioning and install it. Your MBP also does not support Windows ISO.

From Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions

Can I use a downloaded (ISO) version of Windows with Boot Camp?

MacBook Air (Mid 2011 and later), MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 and later, including Retina models), Mac mini (Mid 2011 and later), and iMac (Late 2012) can install downloaded (ISO) versions of Windows 7 and 8.

Please see Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems

Please see Enable Bootcamp to install from usb for OSX 10.9**WORKS** for a possible workaround for your DVD issue.

My MBP is 15 inch mid 2010 running BCA 5.1. Ive seen that list before thats why i assumds it would work. I tried changing the plist.info file to allow my mac but no dice it gets stuck on the partition selection menu. I press to format it does so but does not let me continue. If i try deleting and creating a new one but i get an error message saying windows cant create partition.

Loner T: Basically i have to buy a DVD drive or fix mine to install it if i understood correctly

Thanks for the help
