Deleting untitled groups in contacts

From the phone you can't. If these are synced with iCloud, from a computer, log into www.icloud.com. Click on contacts. Click on the group in question. click on the settings icon (gear shape; bottom left of screen). Click Delete.

If you are syncing from another source, this may very well not work. check with that source.
