Apple Mac mini mid 2011 i7 2.0 ram?

I'm looking to upgrade my ram and was wondering if I can add 16 GB to this system? I found a good price on Crucial CT2C8G3S1339M 16GB Mac Memory Modules - 2x 8GB, DDR3, 1333MHz, PC3-10666, CL9, SODIMM, 204pin.

This machine has the older Intel Graphics HD3000 chipset and I'm hoping some extra ram will help out. I'm using a 32 inch Samsung 1080P LED smart TV for a monitor and it really doesn't look that great.

That can use 16 GB:

Unofficially 16 GB (2 × 8 GB) 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, via non-Apple suppliers[58]

When the 2011 was released the memory chips available only allowed a total of 8 but now you can get 16.

Get the memory from a play that guarantees that will work with your model Mac. I purchased mine from:

Depends upon how much memory:

Your Mini has Intel 3000 integrated graphics

Intel HD Graphics 3000

Intel HD Graphics 3000 allocates a base amount of memory to the integrated GPU based on how much system memory is installed:

  • 2 GB of RAM, 256 MB allocated
  • 4 GB of RAM, 384 MB allocated
  • 8 GB of RAM, 512 MB allocated. Exception: 384 MB is allocated on 15-inch and 17-inch systems
