I can't turn on Family Sharing

Hi,

I have a strange problem where I can't enable family sharing. When I go top the system settings the enabled button is greyed out (see attached) and will not let me enable it. My Apple ID is working perfectly and I'm able to purchase APP's normally and all the other functions of my ID work ok. If I use a different Apple ID the enable button goes active.

Please can anyone offer help.

Hi Komakino,

I have spoken with Apple support and they have told me, the reason why I can not enable family sharing is because my Apple ID is also enrolled to a business account. This is why they say it can't be turned on because family sharing is a personal thing not a business. I am still waiting on the final response from Apple to see if there is anything else I can do, as I have a number of things purchased under my account.

Hola Legolasza,

Is your AppleID personal? May be you use it to connect to AppleSalesWeb or similar web dedicated to Apple Resellers o similar?

Apparently, If you was used your AppleID for other services "enterprise", then your AppleID can't activate the Family Sharing.

Maybe you can solve it contacting with the support of the web in question.

Saludos,

Did they end up resolving your issue? Currently having a similar issue. My Apple ID was used in the past as a reseller Apple ID - The information containing my certifications was moved to another Apple ID which was required to be a corporate email. When this happened I imagined my previous account would have been rolled back to a personal account. Have spent a long time on the phone with AppleCare today not getting very far. The chat has been escalated... Fingers crossed they can roll it back properly to resolve this.
