phone call from Yosemite does not work

I've honestly say that I have tried every suggestion in this forum. From time reboot, to firewall connection, making sure that the same ID is all accounts. I don't hook up to ethernet so that can't be the problem. I have the latest OS available and the mid 2014 pro, as well as iPhone6 plus. Also my handoff from iPhone to Pro is working but not the other way around. Usually can figure things like this out but I'm stumped.

Had the same issue with "Call failed" after trying to dial a number from mac and an odd error in console like

discoveryd[48]: Basic Network GetExtendedFlags ioctl failed Device not configured

But the cause was simple: I've actually been trying to make a call from mac mini which doesn't have a built-in mic. After plugging in an external mic everything worked just fine.

Same problem here.

I've got a brand new iMac 27" Retina and the phone calls don't work. Everything else in Continuity works like a charm.

This is the error I get:

I think I posted earlier but if you're on Verizon Fios try running the Broadband Tuner application. it's a dmg file that just automatically configures your wifi for optimum performance. I tried everything for hours and then finally ran that and it worked. I had ran it in the past but after the latest OS update I couldn't make calls. I guess I'll have to run it every time there's an OS update.

I was having exactly the same issue you described above in your thread.

I turned of FaceTime and then on again and now I am able to make calls using my contacts list.

Had same problem, after all these steps, i could receive calls but could not make calls from macbook pro 2014 15",

I checked my iphone date & time settings (settings > general > Date & Time), and turned on "set automatically". Problem volved

Not working for me. I have tried logging out of FaceTime on both the Mac (10.10.2) and the iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.3). Can receive calls; can't make any.

Note: Also tried turned off and back on Time Zones "Set Automatically".

Has anyone been able to get this working in El Capitan?

I have the exact same symptoms mentioned in this post and when I try to run the commands I'm getting "No such file or directory" and "Result too large" in Terminal.

On your iPhone just go to Settings>Phone>Calls on Other Devices and make sure it's ticked on! Hope that helps! 😉
