Oct 18, 2014 8:32 PM in response to Paradoxxxby Sherwood129,I was having the same issue but I noticed that when I opened my contacts and tried to dial a 'home' number it wouldn't work. However, when i tried a mobile number it worked fine. When I deleted the home number and entered the same number as a mobile number it worked fine, dialled out no problem. Hope this helps....

Oct 19, 2014 6:08 AM in response to Paradoxxxby jwvincent2,This is also an issue that I am having. Haven't had time to spend on the phone with apple, however I will update when I do. So far, I can make calls using my mac from safari or from the FaceTime app in audio from iPhone. I can not make the calls from spotlight contacts search or from the contacts app open. This is an isolated issue with just the contacts app given that you have all the required hardware and upgrades to make this work.

Oct 20, 2014 4:33 AM in response to ClaraMGRby fayeav,What i did and it fixed the problem after i checked that both mac and iPhone are on the same network and have the same icloud account. I just viewed the iCloud account from the FaceTime on iPhone and then everything work perfectly.

1. signout 4m facetime on mac and then sign in again with one icloud id
2. signout 4m facetime on iphone and sign back in
3. turn on 'iphone cellular calls' in facetime menu on iphone
4. if required, restart iphone
5. then go to contacts on mac, type a name you want to call and then you will see blue call icon just like this the snapshot i have attached below. so just click it.

Thanks so much for your info! Just one question before I try. Forgive me for my ignorance, but what do you mean by "sign out 4m FaceTime?" Thanks!

Oct 20, 2014 7:23 PM in response to jwvincent2by jwvincent2,Mainly the 4m portion of the statement.

Oct 20, 2014 8:16 PM in response to Sarvoby tycovie,I can't set my mac to call or forward texts either. Handoff with keeping my iPhone and macbook work. But whenI try to go into settings>messages>get fowarding my mac shows up, I tick the option, iMessage opens on my mac but no verification code comes up.
I go into settings>facetime> tick iPhone cellular calls & I keep getting the message cannot turn on iPhone cellular calls; FaceTime & iCloud must be signed in to the same apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.
I have tried restarting my mac & iPhone 6. I have tried logging out & logging back into iCloud on my phone & mac. I do have a different account for my app store so made that the same as the iCloud & FaceTime, iMessage in the settings & it still does not work.
I have my iMessage on my mac, iPhone 6 set to my cellular number for phone calls, FaceTime calls, & iMessage only, I even tried to turn on one of my emails & still it does not work.

Oct 20, 2014 8:23 PM in response to tycovieby tycovie,Ok, so with some more digging & testing I found that you have to allow iMessages to be reach you at your iCloud.com email on your mac & in your idevice. For that calls to work you have to be reachable at your iCloud.com email account in FaceTime on your idevice, but not on your mac.

Oct 20, 2014 8:28 PM in response to Sarvoby tycovie,Maybe just enabling an email works then at least. I had no emailed enabled before.

Oct 20, 2014 8:33 PM in response to tycovieby tycovie,Yep it worked, I changed it in FaceTime & iMessage on my iPhone 6 to my yahoo email & it worked.
I also signed changed the I can be reached at to only my phone number in iMessage on my mac & the calling worked.
So I guess on your iDevice you have to have the same email or an email enabled in FaceTime & iMessage.

Oct 20, 2014 9:11 PM in response to Paradoxxxby Tom Dignam,This may help some users unable to initiate calls from your Mac but can receive calls. In System Preferences/Security Privacy/Firewall/Options, one must select Automatically Allow Signed Software to Receive Incoming Connections..If you have Block All Incoming Connections except those..... Selected, your Mac will not be able to "receive" a return signal from your iPhone. Curious I know because you can "receive" incoming calls... This solved my issue..

Oct 21, 2014 12:08 AM in response to Tom Dignamby MaxmillianX,YES! This fixed it for me. Although I am not sure I like disabling the "Block all incoming connections" due to security reasons ;-)
