Nov 5, 2014 11:54 PM in response to Adziby Streusalz,Thanks for this.
This solved my problem - with both Wired and Wireless connected I could start calls from my Mac, but not receive them. With only one active everything is okay.

Nov 7, 2014 10:06 AM in response to cruzinovaby jeskine,In my case, when I click over some people's blue phone icon calling starts but with others it won't. What could be wrong? A contact is a contact no?

Nov 11, 2014 9:22 AM in response to jeskineby Jack Gildar1,If you open FaceTime on your Mac, you can make calls from within the FaceTime using your iPhone. By right clicking on the number or contact within FaceTime, you can select whether you want the call be a FaceTime or iPhone call.

Nov 14, 2014 10:59 AM in response to Paradoxxxby ajtomasetti,I'm having the same issue. I'm on the same wifi network, my iCloud accounts all match up, I'm signed into FaceTime on both devices, I've restarted, and I'm able to receive calls however I cannot make them. When I click on the blue phone (it's not greyed out), the call will start but then it fails. When someone tries to call me I'm able to answer their call just fine.

Nov 15, 2014 9:03 AM in response to Paradoxxxby oldman22,I have just sorted this out for me. I run Intego AV and firewall and somehow the firewall settings had changed? I have now reset all to default "home" and its all working fine. I have no idea how the firewall settings changed but they did. I am the only person who has access to this mac so it was not someone else playing around. You can test this by turning off the net barrier protection (you still have the mac firewall) and if it works it will be well worth checking your firewall settings. Hope this helps somebody.

Nov 18, 2014 1:38 PM in response to rcadilloby Paradoxxx,I feel your pain. I have a mac pro and can’t use boot camp to load windows 7, only that piece of crap 8 which I won’t do. Can't get handoff to work consistently and of course can’t make or receive phone calls. I get the notification on my desktop and when I try to accept a phone call it hangs up on whoever called. And of course I can’t make any out going calls. Then I have dual screens and sometimes when I boot up it only recognizes one of them. I have to pull the cable out of the pro and put it back in for it to be recognized. Holding the alt key and clicking on “detect display” doesn’t work in the preference display screen. Pulling the plug is the only way I have found to get it to get recognized. Then I have to do the rearranging of the screens. The fun never ends. None of this was an issue with my old mac pro albeit the phone thing wasn’t supported outside of bluetooth 4.0 which the old mac’s didn’t have. I’m not sure if its the new mac pro with the SSD or yosemite. But something is screwed up. I’ve had Apple for almost 20 years and now I get the feeling they are getting likes PC’s.

Dec 6, 2014 4:38 PM in response to Paradoxxxby LoveMyMac!,I had the same issue with my Late 2011 Macbook. I could receive calls on my Macbook but could not make calls.
Solution: hold down the power button on your iPhone and do a hard restart. When you restart your iPhone you will be able to make calls from your Macbook.

Dec 8, 2014 7:01 PM in response to Paradoxxxby lcny_26,Turn off Face Time on your iPhone, wait 1 min...turn on again and it will appear a message on your Mac to add the number. After that you can make calls from the computer.
