Oct 28, 2014 9:06 AM in response to Stan in Londonby UtahMacTech,This is crippling me at work. I keep losing connection every 20 minutes or so on my MBP. It is costing me money and productivity!!!!!! And I can't exactly go to our corporate IT and tell them something is out of date with our wireless when for a company of 800 people there have been no complaints except for the 4 of us on MBP's who updated to Yosemite.

Oct 28, 2014 9:17 AM in response to ninjiiby jaiwoongseo,It may helps if disconnection issue is only at home with old router.
Since I updated my Mac Pro 13 inchs retina to Yosemite, wifi has been dropped off almost every minute and had to select again and again network.
After a security level in router is changed from WEP to WPA2-PSK, TKIP mode, The problem has been solved so far (now wifi hasn't been disconnected off for 30 mins).
GOOD Luck.

Oct 29, 2014 11:18 AM in response to mattormondby barbarafromsalem,I'm only on 10.9.4, but I have also been having WiFi continuously dropping on my MacBook for the last few days (doesn't drop on my Windows PC or iPhone). I tried the various suggestions below:
- Create new Wi-fi service
- Delete/reconnect to network
- Delete bluetooth.plist
- Delete SystemConfig
- Change to DNS 8.8.8.8
- Delete Keychain folder in Library
- Restart with Command Option P and R pressed
None of these worked. But <drum roll> this did:
1. Apple > System Preferences > Network > Click on your WiFi > Advanced > TCP/IP > click Renew DHCP Lease
So far, no WiFi dropping

Oct 29, 2014 11:49 AM in response to mattormondby WoNo77,Hello,
i have the same problem on my MacBook Air, after i installed Yosemite, wifi keeps dropping every couple of minutes.
is there already a solution except downgrading? This is totally annoying.
Hope this will be solved quickly.Best regards.

Oct 29, 2014 1:43 PM in response to WoNo77by walstib,Try setting up a 2.4ghz network on your router.
That solved it for me. Still a defect but at least I can maintain a
connection now.

Oct 29, 2014 4:38 PM in response to walstibby wr3ck5,I tried all the fixes so far on my 2013 air. Nothing works. I also tried using a Alfa awusb036nhr USB WiFi and still nothing. It has a separate WiFi application to help connect and it keeps showing that it connects to the AP but then quickly disconnects. I don't know whether I should wait for a real fix by apple or not. Seems kind of nutty not to acknowledge that there is an issue.

Oct 30, 2014 3:56 AM in response to wr3ck5by kezgez,i was having problems with things dropping out all the time and wifi was really slow and took ages for pages to load i have turned off fire vault and since i done that last night had much faster speeds and no dropping of bluetooth to wifi, don't know if connected but it seems strange that after i turned it off it worked. maybe a bug in fire vault is interfering with things. hope this helps someone.

Oct 30, 2014 3:58 AM in response to mattormondby The Desert Dog,Following the 'Remove Network Configuration & Preference Files' instructions on this page http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/ seems to have fixed the problem for me. I was getting erratic wifi drop out and at the same time would effect the Magic Trackpad.

Oct 30, 2014 7:14 AM in response to The Desert Dogby arya.i,A complete reformat hasn't fixed it for me -- I'm assuming that supersedes all of these suggestions, right?

Oct 30, 2014 7:41 AM in response to mattormondby asimones,Resetting the SMC fixed it for almost a week. Then yesterday it started dropping MORE than it did before, from about every 20 minutes to every 1-5 minutes. I just reset the SMC again so we'll see how long of a run I get out of it.
It's also very interesting that with all the different solutions (and I've tried them all), some worked for others while others didn't. hmmm....

Oct 30, 2014 7:47 AM in response to mattormondby desenoch,I tried almost every option posted on this forum and nothing worked! I took my iMac elsewhere and tried it on a different network / router which had a much quicker speed than mine ( due to my location I have 2Mpbs maximum) it then worked OK but a soon as I returned home I had the same problem. Ultimately I used my Time Machine backup and reverted to the day before I installed Yosemite, back to Mavericks and everything is OK. Apple really need to sort this out!!

Oct 30, 2014 11:53 AM in response to mattormondby joeMJ,It's really hard to fix by yosemite itself - unless we get new code from broadcom.
You can fix dropping wifi by disabling frame aggregation (if possible) at accesspoint site. Try playing with U/ASPD and trying to send broadcast via unicast or disabling unicast itself. Disabling frame aggregation at accesspoint site/hotspot controller solves it mostly. You won't get far more fromout your Mac than 54M even at MiMo 5GHz/40MHz unless driver isn't fixed.

Oct 30, 2014 5:05 PM in response to mattormondby Mark808,Same issue after upgrading to Yosemite, Macbook pro retina late 2013.
Also have bluetooth issue with connection dropping out and disconnecting magic mouse or jittery movement.
The two seem to be interrelated, if bluetooth starts to play up the wifi drops out. I also have slow responses to searches, almost like a DNS lookup issue or very slow download sometimes, other time its ok. The wifi issue is resolved if I connect directly through ethernet via a thunderbolt adaptor.
