Message font too small in Yosemite
In (iMessage) Messages, I can no longer make the font any more larger, or change the font style. Did Yosemite do away with this option, or am i missing something?

Yes I know that makes the text larger. Mavericks the text could be a lot larger than this, also you could change the style. I maxed out the "Make Text Bigger" option. It is difficult on the eyes.
Unfortunately I can see any other app specific changes in this version. to increase the text further.
If the text is still not large enough, I would estimate that most if not all text system wide is too small, so I would consider looking at the zoom features in System Preferences > Accessibility or changing the display resolution in System Preferences > Displays.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I also need to make the messages font larger so I can see what I'm typing. It was so easy in Mavericks to enlarge now we can only enlarge text to a certain point. Unfortunately it's not large enough.

No, and your complaint is not isolated either. Would like to get Apple cranking on this usability update ASAP. My eyes physically hurt after 2 hours on Yosemite.
The largest text size is ok in the messages themselves. But the message that I am typing is way too small. This can be adjusted by some right click menu choices, but I should be able to change the default.
Cannot believe Apple would release this app this way. The font that is in the users typing window is way too small. Ditto to all the problems everyone has listed. Needs fixing.
Ok everyone calm down and carry on, solution :
Messages > Preferences > Text Size > select Other > Fonts window will open > select Font Size (on right)
Done
:-)
Huh? Messages > Preferences shows a text size slider that adjusts the size of displayed messages, not the font size in the message entry box. There is no "Other" option.
Used to be able to select balloon colour and font as well, not clear as to path for doing so, or if it's been removed with the new OS.
I am hoping they will make a bit more customization available, some fonts are just easier on the eyes.
Using a separate font for myself than for my contact was also nice.
I have been a beta tester for Yosemite and still have access to the feedback assistant for the beta.
I have sent a feedback regarding customization of these issues through to Apple this evening.
I suggest that other users also send feedback to Apple.

Thank you, It worked! I didn't see that before.
I'm not seeing anything but the slider either.
Wrong!
The default is to just have the font size slider. If you go into System Preferences, Accessibility, though, and turn on 'Reduce transparency' the preferences in Messages change to allow you to pick a particular font. (Close Messages before making the change in System Preferences.)
Yes, the actual Preferences dialogue in Messages changes depending on what your transparency setting is.
Not really, no.
