Apple TV cannot connect to iTunes library on MacBook Pro after upgrade to Yosemite/iTunes 12

Does anyone else have this problem?

After upgrading my MacBook Pro to Yosemite / iTunes 12, my Apple TV cannot connect to it's iTunes library anymore.

I have tried the following:

Logging in/out of Apple TV and MacBook Pro's Home Sharing/iTunes account

Turning on/off my wireless router/modem

Turning on/off the Apple TV and MacBook Pro

A combination of the above

Nothing works.

Is this a bug or am I to wait for an update to Apple TV?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

You are not alone. I have had this issue today too and tried the same troubleshooting steps you did. When selecting the Computers app on my Apple TV, I get an error message says "Could not connect to" my library. I have two Apple TVs and both give the same message. However, it's only my mid-2011 iMac having this issue. My Macbook Air, which is less than a year old, is communicating with the Apple TV normally.

I am also having the same issue with my iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) not being able to connect to my Apple TV (2nd Gen. running 7.1.2.) after updating to Yosemite and iTunes 12.

Restarting both iMac and Apple TV have not solved the issue. Neither has disabling Home Sharing and reactivating on both iMac and Apple TV.

The Apple TV occasionally shows a Daisy Wheel icon and the light blinks a couple of times and it goes back to the main menu.

I upgraded my Macbook Pro (2012) to Yosemite and iTunes 12 last night and having tried to use Home Sharing with Apple TV today it is no longer working (it worked fine before the Yosemite/iTunes 12 upgrade).

As others have done, I've tried switching Home Sharing off/on, resetting the Apple TV and restarting iTunes 12.

My main reason for adding to this thread is to shed some additional light on this:

- Airplay on my iPhone 6 to the Apple TV still works

- the Sonos app on my Macbook can no longer see my Sonos system yet I have no problems controlling my Sonos from my iPhone.

Based on this I can safely assume the issue isn't with the Apple TV but with something specific to the Macbook and maybe networking. Hopefully someone brighter than me can use this information to progress a solution.

upgraded macbook pro to yosemite. updated iTunes this morning 12.0.1 (bad update apple?). now i can't connect to my apple tv 3.

iTunes sees the apple tv just fine (shows up in the list of airplay devices), apple tv can "see" when iTunes starts since the generic "turn on home sharing" screen turns to the apple logo. but when i select computers, it starts loading my library and after a minute it fails with the message "Could not connect to " my library.

restarting iTunes sometimes works, but the connection will die and it starts doing the same thing again.

interestingly, i went to airport utility the last time this issue occurred and it's showing no airport base stations are available

Same here, prior to the last update everything was smooth, now homesharing with Apple TV is broken.

Remote app from iOS devices is fine and can control the apple tv, homesharing iTunes with iPhone and iPad works fine, AirPlay works fine with apple tv, everything works except home sharing from Apple TV; iTunes can "see" the Atv last gen but can't connect to library, Atv can see iTunes...

Network with 1 time capsule last gen AC + extreme AC + MacBook Pro running OS X 10.10 + iTunes 12.01, the apple tv is the most recent release and update...

Surely tried everything, on / off + Atv reset etc. nothing get back homesharing, judt sut and wait for Monday release of next update ?!?
