Nov 22, 2014 5:44 PM in response to tomstephens89by dockarp,I upgraded to Yosemite on my macbook air with no problems. Then I upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks on my Macbook pro and it keeps causing the wifi router to go offline and reset after about 2 min. In essence the wifi on the macbook pro has become unusable and is interfering with any other device needing to use the wifi router. I tried reinstalling Yosemite on my Macbook pro, but the problem persisted. So eventually in order to maintain a working wifi system I used time machine to take my Macbook pro back to Mavericks and the problem has resolved. Unless anyone has any suggestions, guess I will need to wait for apple to sort this out prior to reinstalling Yosemite on my mac book pro again.

Nov 22, 2014 5:50 PM in response to tomstephens89by RumblesNZ,Hey there,
I just bought a new Macbook Air, upgrading from my old one. I installed Yosemite as the banner in the App store recommended and now I my wi-fi is so slow and drops out every 30 seconds.
It seems I am not the only one to be affected by this. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Nov 22, 2014 7:45 PM in response to tomstephens89by Julian1605,My wife and I have a 15" MBP and a 13" MB Air and Yosemite all but killed our WiFi. They were slow and dropped frequently. We patiently waited until the upgrade came out, updated the OS, and continue to have the same problems.
Hey Apple, at what point do you feel you owe your customers something in the way of an explanation and an apology? Mistakes happen, but at least stand up and own them!

Nov 23, 2014 5:20 AM in response to tomstephens89by JackMBP,Hello,
Like all of you I have the same problem and honestly I do no care to try to change some setup in order to have WIFI this is not my problem by Apple's Problems. I got this situation after update with Yosemite and before I never had any problems.
This situation is unacceptable I work with my MacBook Pro and what do Apple? I was thinking the update will fix the problem but nothing.
So, Apple you really strong to sale the new iPhone, iPad by this end of the year but how long do we need to wait to have fix for this WIFI ?
As a minimum you can communicate and explain what you are doing for resolve this problem and urgently.

Nov 23, 2014 5:40 AM in response to JackMBPby Parrish Jones,It gets sort of tiresome reading all the gripping here. These threads are supposed to be places for persons who have solutions not gripe sessions. If you want to gripe leave your feedback at apple.com/feedback. My guess is that by now nobody who has a solution is even watching this thread anymore and any Apple employee who does cruise through these posts probably gave up on this one a long time ago. Telling what you are experiencing specifically may help resolve the problem. Gripping and casting aspersions at Apple will not help.

Nov 23, 2014 6:13 AM in response to Parrish Jonesby Dutch,We grip here because Apple dont give us anyway to solve problem. And so to reach them. Except with paid big amount to have support. If they are not able to do upgrade without so important bugs, leave as it is. They lunch IOS which broke phone connection and now OS with WIFI problem.
But Apple will find a solution soon, they will sell us a new router compatible for Yosemite for less 200$ ???
A lot of customer are not geek enough to play with their router's config and are now having problem around 3 month and more with no real news from Apple and no solution.

Nov 23, 2014 6:23 AM in response to tomstephens89by mariafromneptune beach,I upgraded Yosemite in hopes that it would fix my WIFI connectivity issues from the initial upgrade. My computer is still hesitant and will not connect and if it finally connects only to drop after about 30 seconds. It makes the computer useless and eats up battery. The interference is causing flexibility with my business. I am ready to go purchase a line of windows products from tablets to android phones. This is ridiculous and arrogant on Apple's part. I've had it - one solid month of non-productivity. Good bye Apple = thanks to such an inferior product you call Yosemite. Apple stupidity on releasing this flawed product will cost them millions and sully the fine reputation that Steve Jobs built up through his lifetime.

Nov 23, 2014 6:50 AM in response to dockarpby Its Grim Up North,I had slow WIFI issues, after upgrading to Yosemite. However, I have now reinstalled Yosemite and it seems to have done the trick. In fact, the WiFI speed has increased from 13mb/s, with Mavericks, to 16.5 mb/s with the reinstalled Yosemite. Maybe others can try a reinstall and good luck

Nov 23, 2014 8:26 AM in response to Its Grim Up Northby torcano,My issues are a bit different. My WIFI seems OK now, but Airdrop does not work between my Mac and my iPhone 4S. Syncing is now screwed up. I can't sync my music playlists, only my whole music library. It shows my playlists with 'no songs' listed. I have reinstalled both Yosemite 10.1.1 and iOS 8.1.2 and it didn't help.
Is it possible that Windows infiltrators have taken over at Apple? ;-)

Nov 23, 2014 8:34 AM in response to torcanoby likes_beer,My WiFi problems on a Mac mini 2014 with Yosemite are solved. The external USB 3 SSD was the cause of the problem. I moved it away from the Mac mini and used a different USB port (that one besides Thunderbolt) - and WiFi works fine now! More here:

Nov 23, 2014 10:01 AM in response to likes_beerby onlyallmacs,It seems many have figured out the wifi problem and it had to do more with other applications or hardwares conflicting with Yosemite. It makes more sense why after the update many people’s Macs were fixed and some were not. Incompatible 3rd party Applications and hardwares are always a concern before upgrading. There is sometimes a list with incompatible applications and hardwares. It’s best to check that list before upgrading so people know exactly what to expect. Remember the time when everyone had to turn on and off application extensions one by one then restart for each one to figure out which application was the conflicting one. I remember it was sooo time consuming. WOW that was a long time ago, OS 6 or something like that.

Nov 23, 2014 10:25 AM in response to onlyallmacsby onlyallmacs,Also for those of you that had a problem then wiped out your computer with a fresh install and found it cleared up the problem... it was most likely because a 3rd party application was causing it. If you install that 3rd party application again... the problem will come back. Take notes as you install each fresh application and check the wifi right after each install to make sure it works. Other wise you will be back at square one again and not know which one it was.

Nov 23, 2014 1:08 PM in response to mariafromneptune beachby LadyPac,Yosemite is like a grumpy old man. After each "fix" (my last one was upgrading the router's firmware) as well as after upgrading to 10.10.1, it's first almost flawless on my end - from anywhere between a few hours and a few days. Then, each time, the connectivity issues (I think we have agreed that these are not wifi issues, per se, more some sort of network issues) get worse and worse and worse. Like some old man with arthritis, it gets a boost with each new medicine, starts running around, then eventually crashes for no apparent reason. And each time, it breaks my heart...

Nov 23, 2014 1:10 PM in response to patPfeby LadyPac,Not to mention that apparently BT somehow seems to be messing with the networks, so many have reported having to use their trackpads and turning BT off. (I wouldn't know, I don't use BT, and I use only the trackpad.)
