Oct 21, 2014 2:03 AM in response to mamaricciby Mark Scott5,I'll give this a try but I can't understand why it would be the solution as I have a MacBook Pro and an iMac which both have this setting as you described but the MBP works fine whereas the iMac keeps dropping the signal. Strange.

This is a blatant software / driver issue that is related to the Wifi card / antenna. Theres no explanation for not being able to use some wifi networks, whilst others are fine. Especially since wifi was working fine in Mavericks.
Also can people please stop posting "I HAVE FOUND THE FIX!!" after 10 minutes of a working connection since it seems that a short while later, things are broken again.
We need to bring this issue to apples attention. Media websites dedicated to the mac like 9to5 mac and macrumors should be made aware.

Oct 21, 2014 6:19 AM in response to tomstephens89by iNeRsHa,I upgraded to Yosemite last week, I had been battling with wifi-drop issues since launch. I'm a Chrome user, so as a last resort I disabled all my Chrome extensions.
After disabling the Chrome ZenMate extension the wifi issues completely disappeared. To anyone with a similar problem, using VPN/proxy extensions, try disabling those.

On my mid-2010 MBP and my wife's 2011 MBA, we did the solution of deleting wi-fi from NW prefs and creating a new profile names wi-fi2. Neither of us have had problems since. It could be luck. All I can say is that we've at least given it 24 hours with success. I believe there has to be an OS problem at the root, and these solutions are happily helping or fixing it for some of us. I continue to hold my breath though.
