Jan 27, 2015 12:24 PM in response to ausappleuserby Schneeps,The new update 10.10.2 have not fixed my issue of slow wifi.
I ran a speed test at the same time on my Macbook and iPhone. The MacBook was 2mb and my phone was 28mb.

Jan 27, 2015 12:24 PM in response to ausappleuserby ausappleuser,Just cleared all known networks, removed wifi service, restarted mac, reconfigured wifi and I was able to get Google's page, slowly. But that's it. It's stuffed again. I can't get another webpage. What an utter disappointment. I'm thinking of returning the mac to the store and requesting a model with internet access, like I had with Windows 3.1 and a dial up modem twenty years ago. That was so awesome. My mac is now a glorified typewriter. There is no way I'm installing 10.10.2 on our other mac. Remember to disable "auto update" people. I've been typing this for a couple of minutes and in that time Google's page is still displayed on the 10.10.2 mac, unable to load another page. The blue loading bar just sits there at about 10%...
What an Epic Fail.
10.11 anyone? I'm not sure...

Jan 27, 2015 12:25 PM in response to ausappleuserby peder42,I had this issue big time when I upgraded from Maverick.
I quickly reverted to Maverick.
I just clean-installed Yosemite (10.10.1), and wifi now seems completely stable.

Jan 27, 2015 12:30 PM in response to ausappleuserby ausappleuser,And the wifi icon in the menu displays a grey symbol with a cross through it, even as it managed to load Google's page before failing again.
What a POS.
On the plus side, it *is* displaying "am" in the time area though rather than the usual "an" I've always had since downgrading to Yosemite from Mavericks.
For the record, I did not have WiFried installed or any other hack. My mac was a "straight" 10.10.1, retina 15 inch macbook.

Jan 27, 2015 12:33 PM in response to ausappleuserby ausappleuser,Power cycled the mac, wifi symbol is back to displaying it's standard "radar" appearance, full strength and still cannot obtain a single webpage.

Jan 27, 2015 12:56 PM in response to ausappleuserby Huss417,I was really hoping this update was going to fix the issue.
ran a speedtest right after reboot. Download speed of 53.53 Mbs and upload of 28.88Mbs.
Decided to download a file that is 615MB through uploaded.net Download speed dropped to 32.67Mbs and upload 29.03. Then the download was going real slow so did another speedtest. Download speed of 0.89mbs and upload 26.79.
Went and did a speediest on PC that is with the same wifi and download 49.51Mbs and Upload 25.58Mbs
This update did nothing to resolve any of my issues.

Jan 27, 2015 12:58 PM in response to Huss417by ausappleuser,Huss that sounds like a bit of a short sample. You need to test it multiple times.

Jan 27, 2015 1:09 PM in response to ausappleuserby cubic_p,The public release of 10.10.2 is a downgrade, not an update. WiFi performance is down significantly here. With AWDL enabled I'm getting 6 Mbps down, compared to 90Mbps on a similar Mac in the same room. I'm also experiencing an increased number of WiFi connections drops compared to the previous seed of 10.10.2
Think twice before 'updating' to 10.10.2

Jan 27, 2015 1:26 PM in response to ausappleuserby Huss417,I have been testing multiple times. I was doing another but I lost my wi fi connection completely Had to reboot. The speeds are all over the place.
Now download of 13.29Mbs and upload of 19.63Mbs.
I called Apple support they said the next thing is to do a complete reinstall. This will be the second time for that so not sure why I should do that again? Wipe the computer clean and monitor it for 24 or so hours and see if still have the issue. They said if no issue at that point it would be I believe he said 3rd party software issue?

Jan 27, 2015 1:28 PM in response to tomstephens89by rcuprill,I updated to 10.10.2 and it killed my ability to use wifi on my Mac Mini. It was working with no issues until this update. I am re-installing Yosemite to see if that works. Apple this is very frustrating...
