Feb 2, 2015 7:58 AM in response to justinfromsussexby Bogheadben,Yup, exactly what I'm experiencing. My Mac Book is essentially out of the box, as it were, but outwith the return period, which is convenient.
As before, I'm not a techie; I want my Mac Book for websurfing and the advertised reliability. It's a top dollar piece of kit performing like a cheap laptop. I do not get pleasure out of fiddling around with settings and geek speak.
The anecdotal evidence arounf this forum and others suggests strongly that there is an issue.

Feb 2, 2015 8:33 AM in response to tomstephens89by they_fit,Since upgrading to 10.0.2 wifi is gone on my Retina iMac (worked like a charm before). Keeps dropping out after restart.
MacBook Pro 13" 2012 also updated, but wifi is normal. Only difference I can spot (except for the hardware obv) is that my MBP's BT is turned off. iMac has BT turned on.
Is there any way I can find out if this is influencing my wifi? Seems like a lot of people noticing BT is the bad guy here.

Feb 2, 2015 8:41 AM in response to they_fitby Bogheadben,Sorry for being daft here. What is the 'BT' reference mean?

Feb 2, 2015 8:50 AM in response to Bogheadbenby justinfromsussex,I think BT is a reference to Bluetooth.
Which is really confusing for anyone from the UK, because our biggest internet provider is called BT (as in British Telecom).
It took me a while to work it out...

Feb 2, 2015 9:02 AM in response to tomstephens89by PFJ30,Update following 10.1.0.2 download:
All grand. Can now connect/stay connected/auto-reconnect to Brit Telecom Home Hub 5a router both 2.4 and 5ghz SSIDs. Password was requested and accepted. Also changed home hub settings to switch 5ghz Wireless Interface to "a/n/ac" from "a/n" and maximum wifi transmit rate now x3 faster (450 - 1500 mps - but in reality actual only 2x at 300 ve 150 for 2.4 ghz), and went back to SMART wireless and a less crowded channel was selected.
I think I am allowed to say that performance is now better, more consistent than on any of the Seed betas since 10.10.1. Which is a big relief as I only ever had minor problems on my MBP mid 2010 7.1 compared to most of the suffering expressed here.
Am totally unqualified to contribute to SW v HW debate and even whether the mid-January firmware update on the router helped.
Hope many of you get resolution soon. Clearly Apple working on it but now 3+ months in since appearance of Yosemite... shocking.

Feb 2, 2015 1:55 PM in response to MiguelDby Andrew Nalty,I cannot believe it but it seems to have worked. I have been having some issues today and just turned off extensions in Safari preferences (including Adblock) and it seems to have done the trick, at least for now... Thanks to whoever spotted this and mentioned it! I have tried everything and even reinstalled Yosemite to try and fix this previously...

Feb 2, 2015 2:14 PM in response to Andrew Naltyby antoniopp,I finally solved it:
it's the bluetooth.
I am going to upload an astonishing video of what is happening with a speed test.
1) Start a speedtest when you start experiencing problems. You'll see a very low speed (if you see any)
2) deactivate the bluetooth-> speed will go to maximum
3) reactivate bluetooth. speed drops again.
This doesn't happen all the time, as my connections problems, but it solves the problem till apple decides to spend some cash here.
So, the problem for me is that I can't use bluetooth trackpad , but that is a minor issue right now.

Feb 2, 2015 4:58 PM in response to tomstephens89by Ricc83,I wonder why Apple is making more and more profit every year, but the software and hardware get buggier and buggier? On the other hand they produce dirt cheap in east asia, treating their workings like crap, over hours, underage. just check this investigation by bbc: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-30548468

Feb 2, 2015 5:14 PM in response to Ricc83by j-m-d,(to no one in particular)
I have gotten a couple of polite emails, and a phone calls form "Apple Wireless" (which I guess may or may not be real, don't know) offering to help resolve my issue(s).
As I have already reverted to Mavericks, and have no intention of reinstalling Yosemite any time soon, I demurred. But would be curious if anyone else is contacted, and gets any joy from the effort.
