Apr 4, 2015 7:33 PM in response to Brownieboyby samtowers4647,When I rebooted after removing the five files, the new files were created. Four of the files were the same as before , but com.apple.network.identification.plist was replaced with com.apple.eapolclient.configuration.plist. The old com.apple.network.identification.plist network file could have been the culprit. Since doing this I haven't lost my connection once! Thanks so much for this valuable advice!

Apr 7, 2015 10:37 AM in response to tomstephens89by therealikt,Its amazing to me that 8 months after launch, Yosemite is still broken.
I had to work on an office laptop the other day, the employee uses Yosemite. It was very slow, but fully updated.
Ran Speedtest with blutetooth off: 21-25mbps
Ran Speedtest with bluetooth on: 2-11mbps
Yosemite is so broken that its own Bluetooth radio causes the wifi rates to drop over 50%. Come on Apple, is that what passes for QA now? It's been 8 months since launch.

Apr 7, 2015 5:20 PM in response to HJS880by hexdiy,Try this:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.airport.bt.plist bluetoothCoexMgmt Hybrid
Should do the trick, after a restart each time.

Apr 7, 2015 9:32 PM in response to osiharaby osihara,Well given it a few days and it didn't help at all. Different router too... So either my iMac or the something about the network as a whole conflicting with my iMac. Grrr Sick of reporting this and hearing nothing from Apple. It's insulting. this is Samsung kind of behaviour. I know that from experience.!

Apr 8, 2015 10:25 AM in response to osiharaby sweetcider,Well kids, OSX 10.10.3 is available today. I'm on 10.10.1 and terrified to upgrade because currently my wifi actually works. Would braver souls please report whether 10.10.3 resolves your wifi problems?

Apr 8, 2015 10:28 AM in response to sweetciderby Monty72,Well it doesn't stop Bluetooth from reducing the wifi speed (by half in my case) but it does seem more stable

Apr 8, 2015 4:53 PM in response to hexdiyby ChazThePhoenix, have you tried forgetting the network and reconnecting to it?
-
Apr 8, 2015 4:57 PM in response to kivdevby hexdiy,Switch off handoff/ continuity and see where you stand. We'll take it from there. iCloud seems problematic for some. But for most only while the syncing lasts.
Remember, with Continuity on, every last scrap of your documents and drafts gets synced to iCloud under Yosemite. Maybe even to system overload.
Be patient, as in elder days.

Apr 8, 2015 5:01 PM in response to hexdiyby TRAILSLOTH,So far 10.10.3 seems worse to me -- I have to killall -9 discoveryd constantly. This actually feels like a further regression.
I don't get as many disconnects, but that is completely offset by the number of times that I have to restart discoveryd.
Same machine on the wired side of the same network with the same name service works just fine. Apple, can we have mDNSresponder back now?
