Oct 18, 2014 4:41 PM in response to tomstephens89by jf3wioeajfodjf,I'm having the same WiFi issues that others have reported. It wouldn't accept my Apple ID on the setup screen following the installation (error: couldn't connect to the server), which I had to skip, and upon reaching the desktop I can't access the internet at all even though it says I'm connected. ASUS RT-AC87U on the 5Ghz band. Selecting the 2.4Ghz band allowed me to download the first update but when it got to the installing stage it gave me an error saying the download failed. It successfully went through a second time. Very frustrating. Never had a problem with previous versions of OS X.

Oct 18, 2014 5:42 PM in response to tomstephens89by Sprintlover,I have the exactly same problem. Internet just works for 5 seconds at least. I have to use the wire internet and I had no problems with Mavericks. Any solution? this is really annoying!

Oct 18, 2014 5:51 PM in response to tomstephens89by lreynolds93,I think something is definitely going on with the router/Yosemite connection because my ASUS router is brand new and I never had issues until I updated to Yosemite yesterday. I tried using my phone as a personal hotspot and have no issues with keeping the wifi signal and everything loads normally like it should. But, when I turn that off and try to go back to my wireless connection via the router, the signal does not last. It loads pages slowly, if it even decides to load. I tried all the troubleshooting options everyone in this thread has listed but nothing seems to work at all. Apple needs to get it together and fix this because I can see that a lot of other people with this same issue are college students as well and I can't do my online classes with the wifi connection I'm currently getting.

Oct 18, 2014 6:25 PM in response to tomstephens89by neptune5,I'm having the same problem since the update. Until they (or if they) release a fix, click on the wifi icon in the taskbar when it goes out. Choose 'Turn Wi-fi Off'. Then click on the icon again and click on 'Turn Wi-Fi On' and it comes back. It's a MAJOR pain!

Oct 18, 2014 6:34 PM in response to mamaricciby Karl Smith,@mamaricci: great idea, but didn't work for me.
I doubt this has much to do with the issue, but I can switch to a different 5Ghz access point, and connection is fine... for a little while. Then it starts all over again.

Oct 18, 2014 7:41 PM in response to tomstephens89by Raksmey89,I'm having sort of a similar issue, seems like it's a bug with Yosimite. I can connect to my home wifi just fine, but after 10 minutes or so it just disconnects by itself. Never had that problem before on Maverick. Apple will probably address it in its next update.

Oct 18, 2014 8:11 PM in response to Raksmey89by Hoppy6698,Same issue on mine. Brand new ASUS AC router, worked fine on Mavericks, now works like crap for all of our Mac devices. Tried removing the old keychain system wifi logins, but keychain continuously crashes if I try to edit it now. Not so impressed with Yosemite thus far. iOS failures on roll out are equally depressing. Hoping Apple is fixing both very soon - this is almost as bad as a Windows roll out.

Oct 18, 2014 9:27 PM in response to Hoppy6698by Raksmey89,This is really unlike Apple. But I'm sure they're already aware of the issue and trying to find a fix. Also, I notice that mine mostly disconnect when I'm watching videos on YouTube or streaming things. If I just use it normally, but it happens less frequently.

Oct 19, 2014 12:50 AM in response to tomstephens89by leroybrussee, looks like the same issue may users have with their ipad when switching to ios8... Like me. Apple stille didn't solve this issue. So i'm gonna wait this time with upgrading my macbook air to yosemite. One faulty apple device is enough for me.

Oct 19, 2014 1:17 AM in response to tomstephens89by JNyholm,On Maveric I saw a couple of other networks but now I only seem to se beacons from 5Ghz and the connection disconnects at "inactivity". If I have a ping running in the shell the connection is ok but if I break the ping and no other program is currently using the connection for a few minutes the connection disconnects.
This is without doubt a BUG in 10.10 Yosemite.
I will try with new'er better ruckus access points at work this monday. Will report further then.

Oct 19, 2014 1:20 AM in response to tomstephens89by Lobo Mau,The same problem here, just with one add on, it also interferes with my mouse (magic mouse) as well, it stops to work before the computer crashes! It looks like the problem is related to Wifi and bluetooth. My mac is macbook pro 13" retina (late 2013). Thinking on downgrading back to Maverick...
I hope Apple fix this realy fast!

Oct 19, 2014 2:43 AM in response to tomstephens89by beppez,The same here, with the same Macbook Pro Retina.
I've created a new Location in Network preferences and it worked fine just for few minutes...It's pretty annoying, I can't use my mac under this circumstance.
