Oct 26, 2014 12:56 PM in response to Bentemyby KathrynG,I am on an iMac in my home. I only have one network connection. Nothing works, absolutely nothing, and it is shameful that Apple cannot "man up" and admit that Yosemite is an epic fail, but they are trying to resolve the problem. Or...give us the option of going back to Mavericks. I am so tired of not being able to do my work. And again - not my play, my work. I need to make a living and this is killing me.

Oct 26, 2014 1:16 PM in response to tomstephens89by donbruuno,I have the same problems and it is not only my Wi-Fi that have crached. All programs i try to install or open takes about 100 times as long to load. My Mac has been going from 0k userfriendly to impossible to use. Yosemite killed it.

Oct 26, 2014 1:44 PM in response to macelangeloby Teiwaz627,I couldn't have put it better!
I have now tried all the "fixes" I could find, none of them have brought any kind of long or mid-term resolution. And to highlight one of the things that macelandelo said - My "Late 2013" MBP connects and functions fine at the office connected to one of the Cisco access point, but completely fails at home with a NetGear NightHawk or my old Airport Extreme!
The fact that Apple has in no way addressed this situation reminds me of the way Microsoft does business and why I stopped using Windows systems! Thank God I haven't "upgraded" (aka crippled) my wife or son's MacBook Pro!
I went through an exhaustive debugging session with a 2nd Level Apple Tech (kudos for him for his determination). We restarted my MBP in "Recovery Mode", which as he said does not run Yosemite but a stripped down version of the OS. Guess what - Wireless worked flawlessly! Which told him the problem was definitely in the new version of the OS. Because if the same machine worked fine running Mavericks, and the same machine works fine using WiFi (Safari, etc.) and doesn't work with the new Yosemite OS then all indications are the problem is in the new OS!!
APPLE - YOU'D BETTER PAY ATTENTION. THIS 30 YEAR IT VETRAN IS GETTING READY TO INSTALL BSD OR LINUX ON HIS 3 SILVER LAPTOPS AND PROMOTE THE SAME! AT LEAST I COULD RELY ON MYSELF FOR CONFIGURATION CHANGES WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT FOR YOUR TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEMS!
If I could find a way to make Apple pay for all of my wasted time with this problem I would!
FIX IT APPLE OR SOUR THE CONSUMER MARKET RIGHT BEFORE THE HOLIDAY BUYING SEASON!!!

Oct 26, 2014 3:33 PM in response to Lexiepexby OceanDrifter,I thought I'd reply to you as you suggested something try and to let you know what happened in 'Safe Mode', which I'd tried before with Mavericks, but not with Yosemite.
In Safe Mode the WiFi was connected at start up and remained connected for about 10s before dropping.

Oct 26, 2014 4:07 PM in response to bearwifeby ajscilingo,This seemed to work for me as well, after putting the service order to the following: WIFI 1st (top), then Ethernet, then IPhone (USB) then Bluetooth DUN, Firewire and finally Bluetooth PAN if such connections exist.

Oct 26, 2014 4:24 PM in response to tomstephens89by vishvas_new_mac,I had same issue and I was able to slove WiFi issue after upgrading to Yosemite, nothing worked for me after trying all kind of option suggested on internet.
Here is what I did.
- I logged off and logged in as admin user and try my internet and it worked.
- I logged off as admin user and logged back in as general user (who is not admin) and I could not connect to my WifI this suggest that there is something new in new version which is not letting non admin user to access WiFi
I gave admin rights to my non admin user and logged back in and my WiFi worked without any problem.
so I would suggest login as admin user till Apple release a fix.
hope this helps.

Oct 26, 2014 4:37 PM in response to tomstephens89by johnfromburwood,Same issue with my MBP 17 2012. Interestingly though, only on my office wi-fi network. At home everything's fine. I've now had to set up an airport / ethernet connection for my wi-fi at work. At least the ethernet networking appears to be OK. This will suffice as a work around but defeats the reason for bringing a portable to work.
Trusting Apple is addressing this issue. Hmm..
