Oct 28, 2014 2:31 AM in response to Monty72by Calpa,Retina Macbook late 2013 here; WiFi speeds are fine, but the connection drops about every 5 minutes.
Tried all the solutions, but nothing worked - great response from Apple btw. Also, great design on these forums, endless clicking to get to the last page.

Oct 28, 2014 2:42 AM in response to tomstephens89by OceanDrifter,Agree, that would be a good place to start looking.
One interesting observation is that the same problem existed for me with different models of router from the same supplier. While connection was stable to other routers. I also think my ISP is aware of this 'Apple' issue (probably from the volume of technical calls), although they wouldn't admit it, willingly as they don't know what the issue is either and don't want to cast public doubts about their routers.
Ultimately, it was a Kext implemented patch to my OS however, that gave me stable connection to the problematic location.
I think there are lots of different WiFi issues being discussed on this thread that give similar symptoms, which is why there is such a variety of fixes being suggested.
I think there is one dominant issue however, and for my example, only the kext patch worked.

Oct 28, 2014 3:02 AM in response to OceanDrifterby wildcode,I had issues where App Store and Safari would not connect to anything but Chrome would.
This is how I fixed it.
Open System Preferences
Click Network
Click the padlock to unlock it
Click Wi-Fi
Click Turn Wi-Fi off
Click Advanced
Remove all entries in Preferred Networks by selecting them and click - and then click remove
Click apply
Click Turn Wi-Fi on
Go to your wi-fi in the top bar and connect to your network
This worked for me, hope it helps you

Oct 28, 2014 3:51 AM in response to Calpaby andrew k-fox,Calpa,
I have a MBPr, that has WIFI up & down like a yoyo, so i wrote a little script to keep the thing connected as much as possible, and re-connect when it drops. It is just a script that uses ping & request the local wifi status, include with sudo, and it will re-connect the wifi if that drops also.
I should point out this script does nothing but a loop with a ping & request wifi status but appears to work nicely and keeps me working. It logs down how many times you have the problem as it goes. It is NOT a "fix", it is a script that while it is running may solve your problems until Apple Release a TRUE fix, then just throw the script way.
Give it a go , i've put it here http://docand.com/news/33975/osx-yosemite-wifi-monitor-restart/

Oct 28, 2014 3:56 AM in response to tomstephens89by abrewner,Same problem here. Since I upgraded to Yosemite my WiFi connection doesn't really work anymore. I don't lose the connection, but there's just no data traffic over WiFi for several seconds. Then I receive some data, then again a few seconds nothing. Tried different proposed solutions, none of them worked.

Oct 28, 2014 6:09 AM in response to tomstephens89by cbs20,I am having wifi issues as well. I did a clean install of Yosemite and installed all apps from scratch. I started experiencing really slow wifi performance and thought it was my router at home, but realize wifi was fine on other computers and devices. I have tried a couple solutions but they were only temporary fixes. I will continue to try and fix my issue and report back any solutions that permanently fix the problem.

Oct 28, 2014 6:19 AM in response to cbs20by marcelokalib,Guys, I gave up. I don´t think Apple will talk about it. They´ll only give an update. It´s quite sad, but it´s how they do work. Since.. always.
And if Apple follow the trend they've exhibited with previous major updates, the .1 update will happen one month after major-revision launch.
Perhaps, 10.10.1 in mid-late November, with no interim updates unless a major security issue is discovered.

Oct 28, 2014 6:29 AM in response to marcelokalibby KathrynG,And the nerve of them... having just received the email announcing the "new" iMac with retina display with blue "buy now". Are they kidding! I was in the market for a new iMac, but absolutely no way until they get their act together. I would never be so silly as to say I would never buy another Apple computer, because who am I kidding, of course I would, and maybe this is a part of the problem, that Apple knows that through all the ranting and raving, most Apple users are die-hard fans who are not going to switch. That however, is no excuse to treat their customers with what amounts to gigantic disdain.

Oct 28, 2014 8:46 AM in response to tomstephens89by tomstephens89,Just a quick update...
I have been asked by Apple to send them some diagnostic logs when using my router at home which I have the issue with.
I will do so and post back any updates I get.

Oct 28, 2014 9:14 AM in response to tomstephens89by Monty72,Spoken to Apple and they got me to re-install to Mavericks and then update to Yosemite. Did a completely fresh install of all apps and data, not from time capsule and it still doesn't work. Every time I turn bluetooth on it takes out the WIFI.

Oct 28, 2014 9:32 AM in response to tomstephens89by jklpr,I upgraded both my Macbook Air and my late 2012 iMac to Yosemite three days ago. Should have read this thread first. ARGGGHHHH!
I am only having wifi problems (total wifi crash/shutdown) when pairing my Macbook Air via Apple TV to a large screen TV. It happens no matter the content---movies, websites, everything. I am so frustrated! When will Apple post a fix??? I use the Macbook/Apple TV/ large TV set up with clients and am hamstrung without this! H E L P !
