Nov 2, 2014 8:18 PM in response to ch3tby janiceva,Honestly they need to start by admitting theres an issue. Its seriously upsetting that they have said nothing!

Nov 2, 2014 10:12 PM in response to janicevaby therealikt,Apple is very narcissistic. From a pragmatic point of view, though, admitting it wouldn't change anything. They'll fix it anyways.

Nov 2, 2014 10:14 PM in response to KathrynGby therealikt,delete your bajillion iPhone backups. Mine had like 80 gigs backed up once.

Nov 2, 2014 11:01 PM in response to wengenby therealikt,yeah this didn't work for me. I was able to stream one Airplay episode then it all crapped out again, lost all wifi connectivity, same crap. What a joke.

Nov 3, 2014 3:16 AM in response to tomstephens89by waizalf,I have downloaded some 4GB DVD iso files to test the wifi / internet connection. Here my results.
bluetooth on -> wifi issues (slow, interrupts)
bluetooth off -> wifi OK
bluetooth on -> wifi issues
bluetooth off -> wifi OK
...
bluetooth on -> wifi off -> lan OK
@Apple: Please fix this! This very serious bug still not fixed 2 weeks after release of Yosemite is really a schame!
I use a MBPR (M2012).

Your issue is also something I was suffering from dating back as far as Mavericks.
Setting WIFI to 5GHZ cured that particular issue immediately.
So this is something not just happening to Yosemite

Nov 3, 2014 8:17 AM in response to tomstephens89by Schumiwsh,Hello to all,
I had the same problem, but it seams I've managed to solve it. It's all about the network setup. When we klick on the wi-fi icon on the top, we can choose one of the available wifi networks. When we pick one of them, system asks us only for a password. When I looked into the router settings it occoured that i have the WPA/WPA2 setup. When I've checked the same setting on my mac mini, it occoured that I had only WPA2 personal.
So I've changed to the right setting (WPA/WPA2), and by now it's 5 hours from that and no wifi loss at all.
Hope this may solve the problem.

Nov 3, 2014 8:25 AM in response to Schumiwshby johnny10k,I've been having the same wifi issue for over a week (ever since I upgraded to Yosemite on my 2012 MB Air). I have tried all the fixes been posted that involve deleting preferences and rebooting. They seemed to work briefly, but the problems always returned. Turning off bluetooth is like magic, wifi not only returns, but is much faster.
FYI - I am know operating with bluetooth on, but my bluetooth devices turned off (Apple keyboard and trackpad). Wifi continues to work great. When I work from home without bluetooth devices it also works fine.
Apple needs to fix this issue ASAP. The whole reason I am using THEIR trackpad was to reduce tendinitis caused from using a mouse or the built in trackpad.

If you switch your WIFI Network to 5GHZ ONLY - Bluetooth will not interfere at all. if you turn off bluetooth, you will obviously NOT be able to use bluetooth input devices such as mice, pads and keyboards. And to the manjority of users, such is quite important ;-)
iPhone 4s and prior are NOT able to access a 5GHZ WIFI network.

Nov 3, 2014 8:41 AM in response to tomstephens89by Jclark6680,Re-build the Network plist. Forget your network, system pref>network>advanced. Then go to /Library/Preferences, drag system config folder to desktop and restart Mac. Should resolve the issue

I have this issue in my office where I do not have access to the router. I can only make changes on my local machine. Turning off the bluetooth devices has "cured" the problem, but is not a long term fix.

Nov 3, 2014 8:47 AM in response to MortenJamesCarlsenby kevinski_uk,I fear you are all relieving yourselves into the proverbial wind here.
I have an iMac 14.2 and MBP 8.3 and neither had a successful upgrade to Yosemite
I first started to have the network issue with mavericks 10.9.4 on just the MBP wifi to start with (it would drop for just a minute or so hardly noticeable) and as i don't use wifi on my iMac i had no issues transferring files, then 10.9.5 came along and then the wifi AND Lan started to drop out after 2-3 mins or so (for a few minutes) and continued to fail after upgrading to Yosemite so I clean installed Yosemite on just my iMac and discovered i can transfer from iMac to MBP with no errors at all but it still drops when transferring MBP to iMac so i then clean installed on my MBP as well and it worked for a half hour, so now i have 2 macs both with clean installs and can transfer iMac to MBP at full speed with no dropout but can't transfer anything MBP to iMac unless i delete the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ networking files which only last about half an hour tops.
i am a cisco and unix qualified software engineer and have tried every trick in the book since Yosemites release and i don't think I'm going to find a easy solution as i think this is a serious hardware software conflict and as the issues actually started with 10.9.4 on the MBP and progressively got worse i don't suppose apple care to much to fix it and it probably works great on a brand new apple!
Apple have basically rendered my MBP useless unless i downgrade to 10.9.3

I did this last week and it did not work. The only thing that works for me is turning off the bluetooth devices.
I also delete my bluetooth devices plist file and the several other suggestions that are being posted around the net. None of them worked.
