If your Personal Hotspot becomes unavailable when the iPhone goes to sleep, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
Next I would suggest resetting your iPhone's network settings. Follow the directions in this article -
iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
Specifically -
- Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
