Oct 20, 2014 1:56 PM in response to Rocksterh8by stevenuscg,I tried it on a couple of different devices - still nothing, but even more interesting is the fact that I can initiate a call using the phone from FaceTime dialing as my phone, and it now works both ways. However messaging still is being picked up - and some of the message are not being routed through iMessage as they once were.

Oct 20, 2014 2:58 PM in response to marcovelaby basementx,Having same issues here - I'm able to pair my iPhone 6 and late 2012 MBP Retina initially for a brief moment, however, any successive attempts to pair the two devices results in a 'Connection unsuccessful' error.
Running iOS 8.1 and latest release of Yosemite.

Oct 20, 2014 3:10 PM in response to marcovelaby a00.cc,Here's a guide for everyone to get it working! (I had the same problem as all of you). Working on MBP 2014 OS 10.10 & iPhone 6 iOS 8.1.
- Firstly, go to your iPhone's bluetooth screen. Forget the Mac by tapping the 'i' to the right of the Mac.
- next, turn OFF hotspot.
Now, return to your Mac. Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account!
- click the wifi icon on the task bar
- wait for a moment, and as long as the devices are near each other, the iPhone will appear in a separate row
- Click the iPhone network connection
- it will connect and your iPhone will turn on hotspot by itself for the first time
- from now on hotspot will remain on
Note: neither of my devices were connected via bluetooth the entire time!

Oct 20, 2014 3:26 PM in response to a00.ccby R-TIN,Nope, this doesn't really work for me either. BT connects and then disconnects, HandsOff and calls etc works, but I don't know why I can't pair my iPhone with my iMac.
5S / iOS 8.1
iMac 27 late 2013 / Yosemite

Oct 20, 2014 3:28 PM in response to R-TINby a00.cc,Don't even try to connect your Mac or iPhone with bluetooth. Just don't even touch it.
The Pairing function seems broke, but you can at least use the hotspot this way!

Oct 20, 2014 3:31 PM in response to a00.ccby R-TIN,Is it just to wait for a new update for Yosemite or iOS ? Or both? But i never really paired my Mac and iPhone for any reason, just got curious why It doesn't work.

Oct 20, 2014 3:34 PM in response to R-TINby a00.cc,I haven't really bothered to look under the hood to see for myself, so I can't give an informed decision.
I just did troubleshooting to get mine to work by going through the usual steps!
I'd also assume its OS X side of things if any. We just got a fresh update for iOS where as OS X came out recently.
What are you trying to 'do' with your iPhone and Mac?

Stop trying to pair them. You are not supposed to and it is not required. Mine started to work when I upgraded my phone to 8.1. All you have to do is ensure:
- all devices are signed into iCloud using the same appleID
- all devices have BT turned on . Never mind what devices you see in the BT discovery; DO NOT TRY TO PAIR THEM (this has quite a few people mixed up because one would logically think you have to pair them... YOU DON'T)
At this point if it is not working (e.g. you open a mail on your iPhone and you do not see it in the Mac Dock), restart your iOS device.
So again, if if is not working for you:
- Upgrade you iOS devices to 8.1
- Restart your phone
- and for the love of God: STOP TRYING TO PAIR THEM

Oct 20, 2014 3:39 PM in response to a00.ccby R-TIN,Like i said I never paired iPhone and Mac because I haven't even thought of why. However... I started with the handoff features and so on., But it everything works as long as I got wifi + bluetooth on even dough BT isn't paired. Its just that now I know I can't pair these two and It annoyes me.

Oct 20, 2014 3:44 PM in response to RLBLby R-TIN,Ok Thanks! But I still wondering, Haven't ever been possible to PAIR the MAC and iPhone ? And If yes, why doesn't work now? And what has the purpose been with the pairing ?
-
Oct 20, 2014 3:46 PM in response to marcovelaby Kiba Sun,Some posts says that as long as both your devices' BT is on, even they are not paired, you could still use handoff feature.
I just tried, it still DOESN'T work for me.
iPhone5 with iOS 8.1 and rMBP(late 2013) with OS X Yosemite.

Oct 20, 2014 5:30 PM in response to RLBLby Henrique Orsi,Well, unfortunately, for me it's not working.
I did follow what a00.cc said and now I can see my iPhone as a possible hotspot. That's good, thanks!
I did also what RLBL mentioned (about turning off/on the iPhone after upgraded 8.1 if it wasn't working yet), but I still can't receive the messages/calls via Mac.
Details:
- both devices are with the same iCloud account;
- both have BT on (it's BT4.0 and compatible);
- I not trying to pair them. I'm aware it's not part of Continuity.
I'm still trying to figure out.
