Printing on Yosemite is anyone haveing problems?

II've done the install of Yosemit, but I'm now unable to print on either of my printers, all the software for the printers are uptodate, just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how did you rectify it?

many thanks

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

Go to System Preference -> Printers & Scanners and delete your printers and then set them up again... I do this as a matter of course after any major system upgrade... (sometimes weird drivers get substituted somehow during the upgrade) and then turn the printers off and on...

I have an Epson WF-7510 printer, that worked flawlessly under Mavericks. After upgrading to Yosemite, I couldn't print, even after Software Update updated its drivers. I tried deleting it and reinstalling it a number of times to no avail. Then I deleted the printer again, restarted, then added it and it now works great. I suspect a restart is in order after upgrading printer software. (I don't know if this would make an y difference or not, but I print wirelessly to this printer.)

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 - printing into the infinity

Printer does not receive job over wi-fi. HP Printer utility will print but not Yosemite. Will print if shared via another computer with a Stable Operating System.

How irresponsible... Big frustration.

Werner P.,

I am also stuck with the printer issue. No printers showing to remove, so I can't try that avenue. Can you please elaborate on what you did to set up your AirPrint workaround? I am not very familiar with that tool, so if you could detail the individual steps I would be exceedingly grateful.

Thanks very much in advance.

Kimspiess: I have an AirPrint enabled printer (Samsung M2875FW). This means despite the fact that AirPrint is for IOS, AirPrint also works on OS X since Mavericks. All I had to do is to add the printer via the printer system preferences and chose AirPrint as driver (The printer showed up automatically). I now can print over that driver even full duplex (one thing which did not work in Mavericks with the AirPrint drivers), also the dialog for the toner which is left now works over AirPrint.

So I have more or less a full replacement for the non working standard driver. However this workaround only works with AirPrint enabled printers, if you don't have AirPrint then you have to wait until your printer manufacturer or Apple releases a Cups 2.0 enabled printer driver.

This is a CRAZY situation!

ALL printers that worked before the upgrade have stopped working. After printer reset and de-installation, then installation of printer drivers, within the Yosemite OS, tried to print.

System reports that the print worked OK, found the printers on the network etc. then I went to the printer and nothing was there!

According to Yosemite the print finished fine! Clearly the printed document just went into the ether!

It's almost like going back the early 90's with Linux! Not the 2014's with the world's supposed most sophisticated software (actually Unix, but close enough).

Why do Apple issue upgrades like this without testing them properly!

I've decided to take this to the local courts on a "not fit for purpose" basis.
