Oct 17, 2014 10:24 AM in response to sodquinnby jonvn,I am having this exact same problem!
I have not tried Chrome yet, but I have Parallels installed with Windows 7 on it, and through that I can connect to the internet. So, the VM I have running works, but Yosemite itself does not, at least none of the Yosemite apps I have tried, such as mail, safari, app store. I don't think Firefox works, either.

Oct 17, 2014 12:18 PM in response to sodquinnby witchmd,I am experiencing the same problem. I'm connected to my router (airport express) yet when I open airport utilities it cannot locate the router. I also do not have internet connection. However, in recovery mode, I can connect to the internet. Any help pls?

Oct 17, 2014 12:41 PM in response to sodquinnby sodquinn,I went into the Apple Store and they deleted all of my internet info in the system settings, so it would all be new. I got home , found my wifi connection listed and put in my password and it still would not work. Oddly, I can log into my neighbors wifi with no problems, and there are no problems with anything else in my house connecting to the wifi. Going to call them and see what other suggestions they have. If they work I'll post ASAP.

Oct 17, 2014 1:47 PM in response to sodquinnby witchmd,I now have internet connection back. I typed the following in terminal:
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist

Oct 17, 2014 2:28 PM in response to witchmdby WoodShavings,You are on to something here.
I tried unloading, and it was not found. I then loaded the file, and magically all my apple apps made their network connections and started working.
But here's where it gets funny.
I logged off, and into another use account and I had no network connection.
I logged back into my account, and had no network connection. I needed to unload and load the file again for the network to return.
More troubleshooting ahead...

Unfortunately, you have to do this everytime you restart or log off your account. If anybody can share a more permanent fix, that would really help.

Oct 18, 2014 2:00 PM in response to sodquinnby gbedenkop,I had a switch in my setup and had same problem. After upgrade I finally went into network system preferences. Hit the assist me and set up a NEW "I connect through LAN" connection. This solved the problem. Or at least so far!
