Yosemite Battery Drain

I have been using Yosemite Beta for about a month. My battery drained incredibly fast using the Beta. I suspected battery issues would improve after updating to the public release of Yosemite yesterday. The issue has not resolved, however. Just in the last minute and a half of typing this question, my battery percentage has dropped 3%!

When you update, you get the notification that you need to optimize your mac to prevent excessive battery drain, but there is no description of how to optimize within Yosemite or on the web. How does one optimize their mac for Yosemite?

Apple, get on this!

With 10.10 you can forget buddy 😟. Only with 10.9 it worked.

Yosemite 10.10.3 hasn't solved anything regarding the battery on my rMBP Late 13. I cannot tell for yours, but I doubt the update fixes anything on the battery side.

I get nearly an hour more use on Yosemite than I did on Mavericks. MBP 13" 2009.

Short battery life and hot,

Incompatible software is the likely cause, did you check whether ALL the software on your Mac is ready for Yosemite, or did you wing it.

Nope. All I've been using lately are non third party software. I've checked the activity monitor and nothing out of the ordinary.

On this topic are less than 200 people, a tiny fraction of users.

El Capitan will not fix your problem unless you erase the drive and do not restore anything other than data files.
