Aug 14, 2015 6:19 AM in response to ApMaXby JimmyCMPIT,have you tried another account with admin rights? If not create a new account, give admin rights and boot to it.
then open word.
if it doesn't work it will take about 30 seconds to delete the test account after booting back into your normal account.

Aug 21, 2015 8:23 AM in response to ApMaXby JimmyCMPIT,you should report it to them. I've had clients use Math Type long ago for publication work, I didn't even know it was still around.

Aug 25, 2015 2:55 PM in response to JimmyCMPITby Mr.MathType,Yes, ApMaX, like Jimmy suggested, you should indeed report it, and please include all configuration details -- OS X version, complete version of Word 2011 (like Word 14.5.4, for example), and your version of MathType. I see above you're using Word 14.5.4, OS X 10.10.5, and MathType 6.7h, but whoever reads and replies to your email when you write support@dessci.com won't have that information.
If this is caused by a bug in MathType (and so far, we don't know whether it is or not), there's no way we can ever fix it if no one reports it.
Thanks,
Bob Mathews

Sep 17, 2015 3:45 AM in response to Mr.MathTypeby Kimouna,I don't have MathType in my computer, yet I am also experiencing crashes on an hourly basis when using Word in my Mac Air with Yosemite! I even had to just purchase a brand new computer and am afraid to purchase Office because I'm afraid it may not be compatible. Anyone have suggestions on which version of Office to get?

Sep 17, 2015 3:59 AM in response to Kimounaby ApMaX,No problem here with the latest version of Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac 14.5.5 (and previous ones) if as said before
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Office/Startup/Word/MathType Commands.dot
of MathType 6.7h for Mac is removed. So far, so good since 20th August 2015.

Sep 18, 2015 7:56 AM in response to ApMaXby Kimouna,The problem hasn't gone away on my end and while researching it in multiple sites, I've noticed lots of people with the same problem.
I am also having problems with the computer recognizing blue tooth devices, which my research shows seems to be a common issue with the Yosemite platform.
For both of these reasons, I'm considering downloading to Mavericks -- does anyone have an idea if that will solve these technical glitches? I have just bought a new computer which came with Yosemite -- how can I switch it to Mavericks?
