External G Technology RAID Drive not mounting?

Just updated to Yosemite and External G Technology RAID Drive ESATA will not mount. I can't see the Drive in Utilities as well. Checked cables and the drive was working before the update. Any help? I am using a Tower Early 2009 Mac Pro Dual Quad Core.

same problem - and when I connect the drive to a Mac running the old OS, it is not mounting on that either

i can, however, "see" it in Disk Utility

tells me it is not mounted, is formatted as MAX OS extended, but can read no other info except capacity 4TB (i.e., not reading how much space is available, number of files, etc)

not sure if I should try to Repair or Verify, and if so, on the old OS on the new (yosemite)

It does seem as though the Newertech eSATA driver is incompatible with Yosemite. I have just installed Yosemite (2014/Oct/19) and the eSATA disk is not available under Yosemite, but switching back to Mavericks on the same machine the Disk is fine, I tried installing the driver for the RocketRAID 62x SATA Controller under Yosemite, but the external SATA disk is still not visible. I'll probably have to wait for a driver update from NewerTech.

Hi Allan, I still had the Mavericks boot partition on one of my disks, I also keep an external Firewire disk with previous OS boot volumes on it, to hlp recover when I stuff things up. Have you tried booting from the Mavericks install DVD / USB installer to see if the eSATA disk shows up ? Later yesterday after I finished Migrating my files from Mavericks, the eSATA disk did show up on Yosemite, but still not the web interface to the eSATA controller card. I can on only get to the controller card through the localhost:7402 by booting back into Mavericks.

It might also be worth trying to install the eSATA driver again and see if it 'takes' the second time, as mentioned mine did show up eventually, after the Migration process.

I hope this is of some help.

I actually was able to contact the GSpeed people today because we had the same issue this morning after the Yosemite upgrade. Go to www.g-technology.com/support and find the GSpeed ES page. Download and install the 10.6.X patch. I'd contacted them and they were able to test it in the lab. It worked for them and it turns out it worked for us as well, I'm happy to say. 🙂

Now, we can get back to work. 😎
