Share button in Yosemite Safari not working, showing "No Service"

User uploaded file

After upgrading to Yosemite, the share button in Safari does not show any options. It shows only a "No Service" message. Has any one else have such a problem? Do you have any suggestions? It is a personal mac book pro at home.

I had the same problem and I solved it using the free app Maintenance 1.9.5 release a few days ago for OS 10.10; I rebooted and magically reappeared all the items in Share button and all the widgets in the notifications!

This can be useful for those guys who are unfamiliar with the Apple patch (that requires Terminal). I hope this helps, I apologize for my bad English.

Your English is excellent. Thank you for the suggestion. I did open that program and nearly ran it, but decided to follow the instructions in the official Apple support article mentioned earlier, using Terminal. While I've not been a MacNewbie for years, and I'm pretty tech savvy, I'm not a programmer and would never dabble in Terminal without specific instructions of what to do. I did follow Apple's instructions, opened Terminal via Spotlight (couldn't find the "Other" area in Launchpad as they mentioned) but waited for the $ prompt in Terminal and pasted in the code provided and pressed Enter. Things started happening, lines scrolled, and then there was a brief moment when nothing seemed to be going on, and then the $ command prompt reappeared, and I closed Terminal as instructed. None of this took longer than a minute. I did not restart the iMac.

When I went back to Safari and clicked on the Share button, it was all back there-everything that was missing before.

I simply wanted to share this in case anyone else had some trepidation about doing this themselves. It worked beautifully. Of course, Apple should really issue another update to Yosemite to make this unnecessary...

Now, if I can only figure out how to change the color of the file list and menus from the new in Yosemite vile (to me) light green to something much more appealing, I'll be happy. Can't find the customization information anywhere...

This from Apple Support worked for me, whereas the other suggestions did not.

If Share button options (Email This Page, Facebook, etc.) or the Markup feature are missing after you install OS X Yosemite, follow the instructions below.

Follow these steps in each user account on your Mac to restore Share button options and the Markup feature.

  1. Open the Terminal app. You can launch Terminal from the Other folder in Launchpad, or enter "Terminal" in Spotlight search.
  2. Copy and paste this command into the Terminal window:/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed
  3. Press Return and wait for the Terminal prompt (ends in $) to reappear. It may take a few minutes.
  4. Close the Terminal app.

If you have another user account on your Mac that has this issue, log into that account and repeat these steps.

Hey Guys, Apple just wrote an article to solve it. It work for me, no restarting is required. Original post in this link: If sharing options and Markup are missing after you install OS X Yosemite - Apple Support

Just had the same problem. Lost all my share services. I simply went to Apple > System Preferences > Mission Control, and turned on Dashboard. Then I opened Dashboard app, added a widget, then deleted it. Then I went and turned of Dashboard again. I restarted, then had my services back. I went to Apple > System Preferences > Extensions and checked them again. Now all good. Hope that helps.
