Bluetooth audio lag

Just updated (17th.Oct.2014) to OS X Yosemite. Im having trouble with bluetooth connection. There is an audio lag on my bluetooth headphone which progressively gets worse. Im using Sony DR-BTN 200. Is there a temporary solution until they fix it?

P.S. I found others with similar issues as well. Ive tried re-pairing the connection to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

The storage of the Bluetooth audio values have been changed in Mavericks / Yosemite the defaults are now with a process called “Bluetoothaudiod”, you can change the defaults by using the following example:

Sudo defaults write bluetoothaudiod "Apple Bitpool Min" 50

Please see below all the parameters I have changed, to read the defaults please enter the following command in terminal:

sudo defaults read bluetoothaudiod

enter your password:

MacBook-Pro:~ Ciaran$ sudo defaults read bluetoothaudiod

{

"AAC Bitrate" = 320;

"AAC CBR" = 1;

"Apple Bitpool Max" = 64;

"Apple Bitpool Min" = 50;

"Apple Initial Bitpool" = 50;

"Disable AAC codec" = 0;

"Disable AptX codec" = 0;

"Disable HFP" = 0;

"Enable AptX codec" = 1;

These setting work well with my Bose Soundink OE headphones, please be careful entering the values as they are case sensitive, I really hope this helps some of you out there.

Cheers.

As someone said earlier. Apple dont really bother with these forums (Although i bet they are aware of it) . If we need to get their attention we have to submit a bug report , and the more people do it, the more chance they fix it fast.

Myself, i just bought a Chromebook for $270. Only way to solve the issue at the moment.

I'm on a MacBook Pro mid 2010 with Yosemite 10.10.1

I have a Rockbox #3 connected via bluetooth. It's a great wireless bluetooth speaker if you ask me. When I play music in VLC and leave my MacBook alone it works with no stuttering. But when I do something else on my MacBook the audio is stuttering. Especially when I am downloading or streaming I can't even make out wich song is playing. That's how bad it sounds. So I see a connection between the stuttering and network activity.

I tried several things that are posted here but nothing works. Should I update to 10.10.2?

This doesn't work for me...as i don't have Handoff...which is only available for post 2011 Macs.

However, I can well believe that the problem relates to Handoff, as this was a new feature they added (to Yosemite) that is different from Mavericks (the last time my bluetooth speakers worked).

I know Apple don't read this...why would they care about their customers!..but to continually deny there is a problem when the forums are full of it and to still have that same problem 3 months later is completely unacceptable.

So I may have spoken too soon... after I rebooted my computer my Bluetooth speaker seems to be working more or less perfectly after the update. Best of luck to anyone still having issues. For what it's worth, I hadn't attempted to connect it via Bluetooth in about a month, I've been using an aux cable since I wrote off Bluetooth as a lost cause after the beta didn't fix anything. Maybe having it unpaired for so long "reset" something? I don't know.

Bump.

Have this issue with OG 13-inch retina MBP ever since clean upgrade to Yosemite. Delay seems to increase with time device is connected. Had no issue prior to installing Yosemite from formatted HD.

Bluebuds bought at Apple store can no longer be used for video conferences while working remotely. Same symptoms can be observed with UE Boom bluetooth speakers and when connecting via bluetooth to Samsung stereo system. No issues with any of these devices when connecting from Nexus 5 or latest gen iPod touch.

**** **** ****... I have a Bose Soundlink that work with bluetooth on a not that old mac mini... the sound is ****** ever since i upgraded for Yosemite and it has been for more than two months now!!! When i use the sound on my tv, wich use the HDMI link there is NO problem so obviously there is a problem with bluetooth... Is there ANYONE from Apple reading this????? because I don't think you are doing ANYTHING to fix the issue!!!!

I have upgraded to El Capitan and noticed a bluetooth audio lag while watching video's on Youtube etc and local video files

I have a Pure Jongo T2 Speaker connected via Bluetooth and there is around 2 second delay of audio, if I disconnect the bluetooth connection and use an audio cable it's fine, no delay! so it's definitely a bluetooth issue

I have done a PRAM Reset...still same problem.
