Dec 3, 2014 11:56 PM in response to votecharlieby howanghk,@votecharlie During my tests it only helps a bit, after playing music for an hour the delay is within 2 seconds (in compared to 5-10 seconds before), and you need to run that command every time you connect your bluetooth audio device. That's why I said "might be able to mitigate" but not "solve" in the first place.

Dec 4, 2014 12:10 AM in response to howanghkby votecharlie,I understand, howanghk. And I am thankful for your suggestion and efforts. I need to do more testing to see how much it might improve as well. I just got super excited when I heard great audio right after running the command, forgetting I was using a wire.
One thing I was unsure of, when I was checking if the command actually worked (and ps -lp 854 (my pid, of course) showed it did work)… is I saw the process is apparently "sleeping" … while playing audio through bluetooth. Is that expected?

Dec 4, 2014 12:35 AM in response to mommuby I<3Music,Couldn't update the firmware on my speaker because JBL Ampup app instantly crashes every time I try to open it so I thought I would run a few more tests before reporting back...and the result is:
JBL onbeat awake does not seem to work at all with my Mac Pro retina 2012, it has delay issue with the iPhone 5s and the iPad 3! I have 3 wireless bluetooth enabled speakers and everything seems to work fine for all devices no matter which one is connected to which, except for the JBL onbeat awake speaker. I think there might be a problem with the speaker itself rather than Apple software.
Edit: I powered off and restarted all devices, switched power source to ensure every device gets their own source of power! No luck still. It's a shame because the JBL speaker sounds the best of all the speakers I have.

Dec 4, 2014 1:11 AM in response to I<3Musicby votecharlie,I<3Music, you say some of your bluetooth speakers are working fine with your Macbook. Are you running Yosemite (OSX 10.10) on it? I believe all the people in this thread reporting bluetooth audio problems only started having the problems after updating to Yosemite.

Dec 4, 2014 1:28 AM in response to votecharlieby I<3Music,Yes, I am using Yosemite on the Mac Pro Retina, iOS 8.1.1 on the mobile devices.

Dec 4, 2014 5:26 PM in response to jamesrtby skhram,`sudo killall coreaudiod` has been working for me. Admittedly, I haven't really looked into this daemon or why it fixes the issue. However, haven't noticed any adverse issues as a result of ending the process.
Thanks @jamesrt!
Edit - specs of affected machine: 15" Mid 2014 MBP Retina, 16GB, TB SSD on OS X 10.10.1.

Dec 5, 2014 3:04 AM in response to AdiumXby galtobelli,The combo update to 10.10.2 is perfectly working for me!
No more lags with every bluetooth audio speaker and no more lags with busy CPU/HDD/SSD.
Hope Apple has been worked on that updated in order to solve this problem and it's not just a random fix...
My Mac: MacBook Pro Mid 2009 (8GB RAM & SSD are aftermarket)

Dec 5, 2014 2:30 PM in response to galtobelliby NickNico,I've "updated" to 10.10.2 once before and found that, while the lag was not as noticeable, the popping in audio transmitted via Bluetooth was even worse. I immediately used time machine to go back to Lion. Having a bit of faith, I "updated" again recently. Before, there were periods of time that the audio would pop and skip separated by others in which the audio sounded okay, just delayed. Now, the delay is not there, but the popping and skipping is nearly constant. This definitely isn't good enough for me. It seemed that the popping would reduce if the system volume was constantly being adjusted, but that may be a delusion. Anyway, having to adjust the system volume up and down just to get a steady stream of audio via Bluetooth is ridiculous. Still hoping for some new info and/or help with this problem.

Dec 5, 2014 4:59 PM in response to mommuby sailortitan,I am also having the same issue. Makes skyping with my boyfriend a real bear, and add to that we like to watch DVDs or VLC while we're chatting... the worst. Please fix ASAP.

Dec 6, 2014 4:31 AM in response to mommuby Jos Timanta Tarigan,I understand this is a community forum, but after 18 pages, shouldnt Apple care to take a look? at least show us that they noticed this problem! This is so annoying, i can't use my bluetooth headphone.

Dec 6, 2014 5:01 AM in response to Jos Timanta Tariganby Dealfinder,Same lag issue here, but mine is with the iPad mini updated to the latest software - watching YouTube has become pointless, especially with videos that require accurate lip sync times.

Dec 6, 2014 11:28 PM in response to sailortitanby duncan Atkinson,Same problem. Playing a keyboard with bluetooth headphones through Garageband with a delay is impossible. I`m on to the next cords before I hear the sound
of the last. Very frustrating........

Dec 7, 2014 3:53 PM in response to duncan Atkinsonby mdzej,I have the same problem with late 2008 macbook. There is huge delay that is not allowing me serving sound through bluetooth.

Dec 7, 2014 5:22 PM in response to mommuby Jamsiecotterhk,The stuttering on my BOSE Bluetooth speaker has now reached the point where it is un-listenable.
Are we really at the point where there are 18 pages of people suffering the same tech problem, and we still haven't heard anything from any Apple people?
utterly shoddy. I doubt I will ever upgrade OS straight away, ever again.
