Bluetooth audio lag

Just updated (17th.Oct.2014) to OS X Yosemite. Im having trouble with bluetooth connection. There is an audio lag on my bluetooth headphone which progressively gets worse. Im using Sony DR-BTN 200. Is there a temporary solution until they fix it?

P.S. I found others with similar issues as well. Ive tried re-pairing the connection to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Same here with a mid-June 2017 13" Pro running the latest Sierra upgrade 10.12.5

Issued started today, after one week using the laptop. Either the earplugs and the mouse acting weird, interfering with the wifi also. Couldn't connect to any wifi until I turned off and on the Bluetooth. The mouse was already acting weird. After some hours the bluetooth audio started failing, lagging...

Same problem. MacBook Pro mid 2009 and Creative D200 bluetooth speakers. Audio lags with any of audio sources when you do something while music is playing. For example browsing in Safari. When I want to watch a movie I have to reconnect speakers because audio goes on for a few seconds after. Everything worked excellent on Mavericks. Hope Apple will fix it soon because it's very annoying problem.

@ Sashanoir, It is very annoying. Ive stopped using bluetooth headphones. Hopefully someone from Apple is reading this and working on a solution.

Im wondering if there might be other apps that are clashing with it. I have boom (mac volume boosted) do you have it as well? Btw mine is also MB pro mid 2009.

No I just listen to iTunes without any additional apps. Local movies have same problem. All audio stream from Mac is lagged and delayed. I noticed it starts to lag when you do something on your Mac when audio is playing. Pressing play/pause several times or reconnection helps but not for long. That's problem of Yosemite. And I think it's because we have bluetooth 2.0. Seems like developers were focused on great work for continuity and hand-off on Macs with bluetooth 4 and forgot about owners of old Macs. I hope they will fix it in a new update but I'm sure It will take time for release.

I got a iMac late 2012 using beats headphones and i got lag. think this comp has bluetooth 4.0.

guess its the same problem tho as my regular headphones seem to work ok so far playing iTunes VLC and youtube video as well as throwing away trash. the bluetooth seemed to somehow be slowing down the whole system? is that possible? i play to run the disk doctor as well. keep me updated thanks

Same problem for me with a macbook pro mid 2009, everything used to work fine on mavericks. When i start listening to music through a bose mini soundlink, the situation is ok for a moment then it gets worse while browsing on the internet and when i click pause or next/previous on the keyboard or on spotify/iTunes after some time, the sound stops after 3/4 seconds... and every notification sound is also delayed so it's not a software specific problem with spotify/iTunes. I'm glad to see i am not the only one affected by this problem.
