Q: Bluetooth audio lag

Just updated (17th.Oct.2014) to OS X Yosemite. Im having trouble with bluetooth connection. There is an audio lag on my bluetooth headphone which progressively gets worse. Im using Sony DR-BTN 200. Is there a temporary solution until they fix it?

P.S. I found others with similar issues as well. Ive tried re-pairing the connection to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Having same issue. Macbook Pro mid 2010. After updating to Yosemite, whenever i play videos with audio over bluetooth the audio is delayed after a couple of minuts and the delay increases the longer it plays. If I pause the video, sound keeps playing until i catches up with the imaging. The problem is not consist, but it occurs very often, like 4 out of 5 times.

Ridiculous that this wasn't fixed since BETA IN JUNE!!

This is the last Apple product I will own until Steve is reincarnated and takes the helms once more. 3rd times a charm, right?

Have the same issue ever since the first developer preview. But for me this only happens in closed clamshell with an external display. If the lid is open then bluetooth audio is OK.

    late 2009 macbook 13"

Also seeing this issue on Yosemite.  Was perfectly fine with Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion.  On my macbook with Yosemite I've tried with a few BT speakers and all of them are having sound lag.  I then connect those BT speakers to my other macbook running Lion and they are work normally without lag.

Guys, please stop posting "Same problem here".
Ok - good to know - a lot of people (maybe everybody) who has a bluetooth speaker and/or headphone has this audio lag problem.

No real solution yet, only downgrading to Mavericks (a part of buying a not apple product and trash the one you have).

Please just fulfill the form here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Let's hope Apple will solve the problem soon.

    Have a good day!

Mid 2013 Macbook Air - stuttering and lag.

Def. a yosemite thing. That and the WindowServer process going nuts and slowing the system to a halt are ruining the upgrade experience pretty bad..

Same here. Basically upgrading to Yosemite was the worst thing that's ever happened to me.

I see that AppleInsider and at least one other site has picked this up.

Also, I got a request on my bug report to provide some Bluetooth debug info, which I provided.  So hopefully things will be happening.

Similar issues here too. Right after updating to Yosemite, I can't watch anything while using my bluetooth speaker, it just skips and lags so you can't hear anything. I've tried restarting my computer twice, disabling/enabling bluetooth, Pairing the speakers again, but nothing works.

I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH SOMEBODY IN THE APPLE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CENTER (see below how I got there).

The guy was extremely friendly and said he wasn't aware of the issue so far. We were on the phone for 1 hour, he let me run a diagnostic tool and said he's gonna file a report. He even told me he'd call back if they found a solution.

So, follow my steps to get on the chat and ask them to arrange a call-back date with you.

I mentioned before how to get their attention:

    -------

I just had a chat with somebody in the support chat. S/he said s/he'll make a note and I'm getting a call back, too. I think this might get more attention if as many people as possible bug their team.

This is how you do it for free even if you don't have a protection plan:

    1. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com/

    2. Select your device/problem

    3. Select you'd like to chat

    4. When prompted, enter your serial number

    5. You might either still have a protection, then just go. If not you'll be prompted to pay for the chat.

    6. Don't pay, just select "Request and exception."

    7. State your case
