iTunes play songs too slow

I was dj'ing and songs started playing slow. Like if my computer was out of battery but it wasn't. My notebook is brand-new and my songs were downloaded from iTunes, so I don't think there is anything wrong with the audio files. 😕 Thanks to anyone who can help 😉

Hello ggluna,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

Do the tracks play normally when you launch iTunes in Safe Mode, as shown in the article linked below? If they do and you no longer hear the distorted slow playback issue on your MacBook Pro, try removing any third-party iTunes plug-ins as shown in the article.

I hope this helps,

Thanks for your reply Jason.

I don't have any third-party plug-ins or audio software that is causing that. I also noticed that it is doing the same on my iMac at work. Even when I have closed all programs that can slow down the performance. I read this on another discussion:

iTunes has a habit of doing this when you encode source files with high sample rates (i.e. 48,000 khz) to a standard sample rate of 44,100 kHz.

But they are not giving a solution to this.

Also, this is on iTunes that I've purchased last week.😕
