Mac Pro - Yosemite - iMessage won't connect

My mac pro is updated to Yosemite and everything is working but iMessage.

Facetime, mail, everything is fully functional and I'm getting an error message saying

"Could not sign in to iMessage.

An error occurred during activations. Try again"

Here's the specs to my machine. I know it's a little dated but it has a lot of RAM and works very well still.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hi Adam,

I have a similar problem. I updated to Yosemite on my early 2009 Mac Pro. Everything is working great and I can log with my Apple ID for iTunes, Mail, Facetime, etc. Everything EXCEPT for Messages. I get the message:

Could not sign in to iMessage.

Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again.

I have gone through the troubleshooting guide linked to my Linc Davis above and that did not help. I even deleted Messages using App Zapper and reinstalled Yosemite but the problem persists. To reiterate, ALL of my other applications that use my Apple ID work except for Messages.

Maybe when iOS 8.1 is released on Monday it may resolve this problem?

I am having the same issue with Messages on a 2010 MacPro. I performed a clean install of Yosemite on my MacPro and MacBook. The MacBook can login to Messages but the MacPro is giving the "Could not sign in to iMessages" error. I even tried copying all the Message preference files over from the MacBook to no avail.
