How do I sync photos in Photos on my iPad and those in iPhoto on my Mac?

I Downloaded iOS 8 for my iphone and oPad, and am waiting fir Yosemite for my Mac. Since I have iPhoto on the Mac, how to I now sync that with the Photo photographs on my portable devices?

iPad 2, iOS 5

iin the past, the photos I took on my iPad or iPhone automatically showed up on my Mac, and what I loaded on the Mac from my camera showed up in the mobile devices, all courtesy of the Web. I've never used iTunes to sync. If I planned to do that, i wouldn't have bothered to buy a Mac. Isn't there some setting that will sync them automatically as before?

If you want to stream your photos from your mobile devices to the mac and other devices enable My Photo stream.

See: My Photo Stream FAQ

  • On your iOS devices: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos, then turn on My Photo Stream.
  • On your Mac:
    1. Go to Apple () > System Preferences > iCloud.
    2. Select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream).
    3. Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is selected.
    4. Open the app that you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on in that app. You can also adjust your My Photo Stream settings in iPhoto or Aperture Preferences.
