Safari Share Menu Empty, Extensions Preferences Mostly Empty
Upgraded to Yosomite last night. My Share menu only includes Pocket. Clicking more... again only shows Pocket.
How do I get the options back?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10)
Go to:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/
Click on each plugin in turn. They open with the Widget Simulator. Ignore the error message. They were all appearing in the menus, both in the System Preferences > Extensions and the Safari Share Menu. I've restarted and they are all still there.
I'm having the same problem in Safari, the Share button says "no service", I just want to be able to email a web link, you said
"Go to:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/"
How do I "go to" that? Where would I start? Is that in Finder?
Same issue here. Double-clicking on any of the entries on /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/ just opens a Terminal window. Share menu is empty except for Tumblr in my case which I just installed since the upgrade.
Open Finder and on the Menu click on Go. The second to last item on that menu is "Go to Folder". A window will open asking for the path. Enter the string: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/. Hit Enter/Return.
I'm having the same results, opens a terminal window.... (I have duplicates too)...
I found a solution:
Go to: /system/library/frameworks/notificationcenter.framework/versions/a/resources
There you will find the Widget Simulator. Double Click on it. It will open with no window.
Then Go to:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ShareKit.framework/Versions/A/PlugIns/
Click and drag the following to the Widget Simulator:
Ignore the error on each (just hit Ok)
Your Share Menu will be fully Populated.
So far so good!
I need to do a restart, and verify that they stay put.
Unless they disappear, I consider this solved. Thank you.
THANK YOU!!!!! It works!
Thanks! In that progression it solved my same problem also. For some reason, I loaded two iMacs and a MacBook Pro with Yosemite and Safari 8.0, and only one iMac gave this problem after update. Not sure why? But, this fixed the problem.
Thanks!
Solved.
🙂
I see the same, have you got any further?
