why is iCloud drive not showing all my folders?

I will add that Numbers is the main problem for me. It no longer syncs at all to my iPhone 5, but will sync between my Mac and iCloud.com.

I solved my Numbers syncing situation by opening every single file on my MacBook Pro. Apparently, some files were in "conflict" with all my Apple devices (MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone, and iCloud.com) even though the files have the same modified date and size. I chose to keep the "modified" file from iCloud.com. Now, everything is syncing fine, except updates takes a long time.

Thanks for the suggestion erio, but that did not work for me. I am not prompted to keep a specific version at all. Nothing happens.

Now that I have played around with it some more, it seems to be an issue will all the iWork iOS apps. Creating a new document in Pages, Numbers or Keynote for iOS NEVER sync to iCloud Drive or my Mac. However, my Mac and iCloud are syncing just fine when I create a new document from either source.

Well, not sure what happened, but everything is syncing properly once again among the iWork apps. Now if Apple would just let us have nested folders in the iWork app folders, I would be set.

I was in the same boat as you were.

Bottom line is, I downgraded to a lower capacity iCloud account just enough to cover backups and content of my iOS devices. Meanwhile, I resorted to using Google Drive as my cloud-based storage.

Contacted Apple Support already. They escalated my issue to what seems like higher echelon technical support, and still no answer. In fact, the woman I spoke to never got back to me for weeks now.

Having gone to great lengths to find workarounds to use iCloud Drive, including tinkering around with simple Terminal commands (and I am no techie), my conclusion is that apps in IOS and Yosemite need to be compatible with iCloud Drive.

This compatibility issue is not clearly explained by Apple - resulting in a great deal of confusion.

I use iCloud and iCloud Drive for quick access to projects I'm working on (also allowing minor changes on companion apps on my iPad), then I use DropBox to archive / store long term - removing completed projects from iCloud / iCloud Drive.

I am having a very similar problem on my iMac. When I click on icloud Drive nothing happens it just shows the same files that were in the last location you had selected. Ironically iclould drive works fine on my Windows 7 machine.

Tip: If FileValue is on in you Mac, folders will be encrypted in iCloud Drive too, and don`t will show in some devices . Happened with me.

Try to Turn of FileValue.

This is really dumb. I was excited that Apple were bringing back iDisk but as it stands it only half works. I can save to an app's dedicated folder in iCloud Drive from within the application but these folders aren't visible in the Finder itself. In the Finder I can see only iWork folders despite having several non-Apple apps with documents in iCloud.

Is this an Apple bug, restriction or have third-party developers done something wrong?

As it stands I'm going to move everything off iCloud (from within each app) until Apple can sort this out. You'd think after several botched software products and a long (public) beta period they might've got one of Yosemite's biggest features working properly!

icloud drive is far from doing what it was promised to do.

All of my third party apps on my iDevices DON'T SYNC properly with the icloud (except for Notability - hopefully). Every single time I wan't to get some files on iOS from the cloud I have to REBOOT my iOS device first, otherwise the newly added files won't show up - ever. As many times as I need to get new files -> I reboot.

It has been possible to do that since day one.

And with an iWork app.

Exactly like that...but within the iWork app folders. You can only create nested folders (that are functional) outside of the iWork apps' folders. If you try to make one within, they wil not show up on icloud.com iWork apps or iOS iWork apps.

Yes, you have a folder in the Keynote app. That is great, but that is not what I mean by nested folders. Now try creating a folder within the folder named 'Charon' as you did for your 'personal' folder in your first post. If you can get this to work, please post how you did it (and that you can access that folder on all three platforms--Mac, iOS, and online) because I cannot figure it out.
