My GoPro .mov files won't import in new version of iMovie.

I'm also in the same boat - 300GB of RAW footage from my GoPro, upgraded to Yosemite and latest iMove, can no longer see the video, but the sound is there. What has changed?

Also I cannot import some converted footage from GoPro Studio, I get rid of the fisheye.

I have the same issue!!!

all of my clips are there- for some of them i can see a preview-picture of the clip, some of them are coloured blue.

Anyway..if I try to start the clips, i can hear sound, but there is no video.

I have got this issue since i updated to yosemity and the latest imovie version

I rolled back to imovie 9.0.9 last night. Everything works again...

Still no word from Apple?

Seriously… testing with video from iOS devices alone does not make a product ready.

At least some feedback… is this being worked on?

I use iMovieHD (aka iMovie 06) for this. It works perfectly. I can also share to iDVD, and make DVDs as good as Hollywood can.

Well I just tried Hero4 Black and latest iMovie 10.0.6 and I can import the 4K/30 files from the hero in iMovie, export it as 4K and as such works on my iMac.

Just tried it with a 20sec clip .

Tschnurr1, were you able to put several 4K clips in a project and export it as a 4K video?

Valid point. So in my situation what I figuered out:

5 clips every roughly 8-10sec. Okay in reality doesn't make a lot of sense. Once I add 3 clips in total <30sec. It works I can see the export function with 3840x2160 but if I add an other one I can't export anymore in that resolution. Even when I delete the last one and reduce back to <30sec I only get the 1080 Setting as max. Very Very strange. Latest iMovie 10.0.6 and iMac late 2013 with i5 and 16GB ram.

I found out why you can't export 4K resolution in iMovie 10.0.06 ...(from apple's site):

So you can export a single 4K clip from the browser at its native size, but not the project.

This now makes sense to me because I have been trying every way to export a couple of goPro hero4 and gh4 4K clips in a project without any luck. You can export it in proRes but only at 1080p.

Sadly, no 4K exporting in iMovie.

Please correct my post and tell me you can export at 4K....someone...please.
