Q: How can I uninstall OS X Yosemite and return to OS X Mavericks?

Very much in agreement with you about Yosemite, Siriol. I'm having to find my lost files and recreate folders in my finder sidebar after upgrading. Very frustrating, and finding no solutions to the problem other than to wipe clean my drive and reload everything - not an option for me.. Can't believe Apple is not helping on all of these Yosemite issues.

Hi Allan.  I just wanted to include my reasoning on why I'd like to return to my old OS over the Yosemite version.  My email isn't working well.

I've tried everything to get my email to work but each time I check email I get an unable to connect warning.  I then have to click take all connections online to try to get my personal email to work. I've gone over the settings to ensure they are correct. But since the upgrade this one particular account will not go online.

At this point in time, I think you would be better off waiting for the 10.10.1 update to see if that takes care of it.  I think going back now will just be time-consuming and frustrating for you.

I've read about problem upon problem upon problem wt Yosemite. The really strange thing about the problems I've seen in this forum, is everyone seems to have different ones. No true speculation in this post, just a question to ponder. Did apple release more then one version of Yosemite to it's unsuspecting users for free, just to see what versions worked,and which ones did not? If anyone else has a similar question, please reply soon, because I am quite sure that Apple, who supposably doesn't read these posts, will have this question removed for speculating.

No. There is only one version

They did release a beta version prior to the actual release of it to the general public.

Personally after all of my years on these forums I have found Yosemite to actually have fewer problems then other releases.

Why does it use some much more RAM? it just seems to have slightly add stuff to Notification, Do you think a enhancement update will fix those?

It's designed to use as much RAM as possible to prevent it from having to always read your hard drive. When you have a need for RAM space, the OS will apply compression and if necessary purge cache to make room. That's all to make it faster and decrease energy use.

My biggest problem after upgrading to Yosemite is that my Yahoo doesn't work anymore. I cannot make conferences using Yahoo Conference ... it's what we usually use for our communications ... They continue to do so and right now, I need to get another laptop or computer to get in touch with them because I cannot force the majority to disregard yahoo just because I upgraded to Yosemite and that's my biggest frustration about Yosemite right now

Posting your question here at the bottom of this old thread is certain a good way not to get it noticed. I would suggest that you start your own thread for your questions. When you do include as much information as you can such as; the browser you are using, any error messages you are getting and how you are connected to the internet.

The stuff about your conference calls not wanting to switch from Yahoo is not help and can be skipped.

Hey Allan, I'm in the same situation, I have an old MacBook 2009 and since I installed the new OS X Yosemite, the battery just empties very fast...incredibly fast, I can't work without the energy power... it takes a lot to charge the battery but nothing to empty it....

So I think for MACs older versions the new system simply ruins your computer..so I want to come back to the prior operating system....

So, when is the next update, 10.10.1, anybody know from experpence?

Until Apple makes it available, no one knows that and we aren't allowed to speculate.
