yosemite-iphoto: iphoto opens when iphone connected?

.

is this a yosemite thing? how can i disable this?

i checked iphoto preferences and disabled "connecting camera opens: no application" -- still iphoto (ver 9.6) opens whenever iphone 6 is plugged in.

happens on mac pro (the "black bin") as well as macbook pro 17 (late 2011).

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10), 17-inch, late 2011

Hi

This happened to me also after upgrading to Yosemite. I found a workaround that seems to be working for me. In iPhoto I have selected iPhoto, Preferences (not sure if it is called Settings since I am using the Danish interface), General. The action to be performed when connecting a camera was none so nothing is supposed to happen when connecting my iPhone. However I changed this to Image Transfer (again not sure what it is called when using the English interface), restarted iPhoto and changed the setting back to none again. Now iPhoto is not launching when connecting my iPhone.

Hope this helps.

Glad to find this post, and hoped it would solve my (identical) problem. But it hasn't.

I had the camera option turned to "no application" as it was previously. iPhoto started

Changed to Image Capture as recommended, but even after quitting and re-attaching the iPhone, iPhoto opened again. So, it did NOT open Image Capture, but did still open iPhoto. Not sure what else to try, when this worked for everyone else.

This is Yosemite, and iPhoto 9.6 and a 5S currently running iOS 7. All I wanted to do today was upgrade to 8. Jeez.
