Q: bluetooth broken

upgrade mac Mini to Yosemite

the Mini will not connect to headphones any more (does connect to Trackpad and Keyboard)

- has trouble connecting/disconnecting from drop down menu (just stays in previous setting)

- when "connected", speaker sound goes off, nothing in headphones (mostly)

- occasionally sound is received in sputtering fashion

- quitting Safari does not help

- repairing does not help

I restarted once, and it seemed fixed, until next time I went to use it

won't upgrade other machines until fixed

I've had a series of issues since upgrading, I believe it is BT related:

If I did NOT try to use my previously functioning BT headphones I got:

    • no stalls/stops playing video files
    • no sound issues (no connect to headphones, stuttering audio)
    • no endlessly spinning beachball
    • no "System Prefs Not Responding" message

If I tried to connect to the headphones I had issues with all of the above bullets. Trackpad and keyboard continued to work after the above problems manifest themselves.

This issue was repeatable - don't connect to the BT headphones, things were "good"

    Disk Utility found no issues

RePairing the headphones does not help

I reset the PRAM, and that resolved the issues

Mine is a mid-2012 MacBook Air and have this problem as well....can't pair with iPhone 5S which is running on iOS 8.02.  Already try resetting the PRAM but problem still persist.  It would show "connected" for a second and then "not connected" right after....strange.
