4K Graphics Card @60Hz for Mid-2012 Mac Pro

Does anyone know which aftermarket graphics card supports 4K at 60Hz on the Mid-2012 Mac Pro? I can't seem to find one that does in any current forums.

What are the newer cards? Does anyone know? Really want to max out my Mac Pro for a few extra years of use!

The current 'best' card for a classic Mac Pro is an Nvidia GTX 980, this card even supports a 5K Dell monitor! Yes there is an AMD R9 380x but frankly it is a huge disappointment as it does not support Displayport 1.3 or HDMI 2.0 and as such was already obsolete before it even shipped. I have not heard of anyone managing (yet) to get a 5K monitor working on that new AMD card but 4K should not be a problem.

So the options are - Nvidia GTX 680 or higher, or AMD HD 7950, HD 7970, or R9 290x, (R9 380x = waste of time), with the Nvidia GTX-980 in my opinion the current best option.

Yes the GTX 980TI will work as well. While you can use a generic PC version of any of the GTX 980 variants, if you want the full Mac experience your only choice is to get one 'flashed' by MacVidCards. This adds support for seeing the boot progress, holding down Option to switch boot drives, etc.
