this really didn't help, the answers to turn off the phone and turn it on again "really"? I am sure you mean well, I appreciate your effort.
My daughter first noticed the difference back in iOS 7, when I would do my updates she did not. before I updated my pictures were beautiful crisp and clean
equal to hers, if we took the same shot we got the same results. But as I updated my iPads and iPhone she stayed with the original settings that encouraged us to buy the iPhone in the first place. beautiful photos. clear pictures sharp images. I didn't want to believe her when she explained her belief was that apples upgrades deteriated the cameras in the older phone so that the newer phone was more appealing with clear images, hence you would buy a new phone. It certainly work for my eldest daughter who was so ****** off with her camera on the iPhone 4 she upgraded to the 6. but I can't afford to upgrade my phone every year, and as a big fan of Apple don't want to believe they would be so devious to prompt sales. I had an iPhone 4 and loved my camera, it was the best could photograph the hairs on an ant it was so good, not as happy with the images I'm getting now. even when i tap to focus, a lot of blurred images, and colour distortion. and a definite difference between my iPhone 5 and my daughters iphone5. I am sad, I use my phone for taking shots all the time even my son has jumped ship and gone to the competition saying his photos are clearer than mine.

Thank you for your reply. The section that I included has a couple more steps than restarting the phone.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
- If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
- If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
- Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
- Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
- Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
- Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
- Try to remain steady while focusing:
- Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation. - Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
- Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
- If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
If you have gone through every step in that section, click on the link below to reach out to us.
