Thanks for the question. On iOS, you can access iCloud Drive documents by opening a compatible application for the format (ex. for text documents, open Pages for iOS. Presentations, open Keynote for iOS. etc). For more information, see this resource:

How do I access all my files in iCloud Drive?

- On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8, you can access your files from Apple apps like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, or any apps that support iCloud Drive.
Thanks,

Oct 20, 2014 2:42 PM in response to Matt_M.by Dr. Physics,Thank you, Matt. However, I would like to access a series of text files authored in the Mac's native TextEdit application. It's not clear at all to me that the iCloud Drive compatible applications would handle these text files. I thought that iCloud Drive would act similarly as Dropbox but I don't see how to get there without some sort of app that would handle text files. Thank you for your explanation.
