Removing "recents" from home screen

Removing "recents" from home screen

I can't remove "recents" from my home screen since iOS 8. Can anyone tell me how? I turned off all the notifications and there are not any "recents" in message anyway. Driving me nutty, lol

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 8

The contacts recents?

Settings, contacts, 'show in app switcher' and turn it off

Try settings> mail, contacts, calendar> show in app switcher> recents> off.
