How to change folder color?
The electric baby blue color of Finder folders under OS X 10.10 Yosemite is simply hideous. Anyone know of a way to change the color?

Yes i have the same problem and searching the answer. Floresant blue colour is so bad for photographers who wants to see the right color of the photo. If you look a folder icon for a little while after than you cant see the real color of a photo. So bad design and color. Must give a short way to change the color of the folder icons. And all design may be fast but not useful... So bad so bad...
There's a super simple app called LiteIcon (works with Yosemite), safe to install http://www.freemacsoft.net/liteicon
You can change the color of you current folders in any image editor or add any other icons.
Thank you for your polite help bodyxs... 🙂
😟 But why do i have to install any program to change those ugly colors. They have to give an easy way to change it. That is an ugly design.. Do i have to see those floresant colors on my desktop. If they do something like this thay have to give a solution...

Apple has never provided a way to modify the look and feel of the OS. Not sure why you’d suddenly expect them to start.
Thanks for that tip. I'll check it out.
You can go to System Preferences > Accessibility and check the Grayscale box, but then ALL color goes away in the Finder.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
Your torti is likely to lose its sense of independence before Apple acknowledges and fixes a user submitted issue. 😉

Not exactly the truth. Apple has provided many ways to customize the look of the UI. I've pretty much changed all my icons to more modern 3D icons back from the Yosemite's neon flat icons inspired by the 80s.

What direct function of the OS did you use to customize those icons?
Isn't that the truth...
