Pixela Caty software

Anyone ever use the Capty software to get data from Sony Handycam? Does it allow you to then use imovie if you wish?

Interesting - I spent an hour yesterday trying to fix the Pixela software.

In the end, I just started iMovie as the last measure, and to my surprise it smoothly imported (in HD) all my Handycam movies with no additional software / drivers. I had a firewire connection. My camera is DCR-TRV50.

No firewire here. All USB 2.0 on my DCR-SR80

Mine isn't a straight FireWire either, as I realised. I have a wire that is FireWire on the computer end, and iDV (?) or something like that on the camera end.

I'll try to remember to check when I'm back. It works very smoothly for me.
